Heard yesterday from someone in the know, three of the potential buyers of West Ham are looking to invest big time. Not quite as massive as Many City, they plan to run it as a business, but aren't worrying about making a profit for a few years. They will invest in a new stadium, with the hope it will be ready in 3–4 years time. They will be scouting to world for the best up and coming youth, starting with a few youngsters from South America. Players such as Lulinha, Douglas Costa (if none of the big clubs step up their chase) and varoious others that will have to remain confidential now. (not that anyone believes this site anyway)
They will also look to sell fringe players and replace with youngsters. Davenport, Spector, Gabidon (spelling?), Neill, Mullins, Ethertington, Boa Morte, Bowyer, and possibly Cole if the price is right.
Ashton will be given to the end of the season to prove his fitness, otherwise he will be shipped out on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.
As i said, only three potentila buyed have expressed an interest like this, and they all have the same sort of goal, give or take a few different players. other potential buyers have not yet revealed their plans.
but due to Gudmunsson's (spelling??) financial predicament, he will sell to the biggest buyer – which is fair enough considering.
watch this space, as things will happen quickly, ready for the January transfer window.

I posted a few weeks back that Gerrard and Carragher are trying to persuade Rafa to bring back Owen. My understanding is that Rafa was initially very reluctant but is now much more open to it. It however, has nothing to do with Keane leaving. It looks like Ngog is to be loaned out and Benayoun is to be sold. I am not sure of destination but both Blackburn and Spurs have been mentioned. Penannt is also likely to finally secure his move away from Anfield with Wigan a possibility. Aguero looks like he might move to Anfield one day but its not going to be this season. Liverpool simply will not have any funds until Gillette and Hicks pay back the interest on their loan or sell up to someone else. So what seems likely to happen is Rafa will start the second half of the season playing a more traditional 4 4 2 with a choice of 2 strikers from Torres, Keane and Owen. A left wing of Riera or Babel, a right wing of Kuyt or Babel and occassionally Gerrard and the middle made up of Alonso, Mascherano and occassionally Lucas. Back 4 is more straightforward with centre backs a–plenty in Hyppia, Carragher, Skrtel and Agger.
Left back Dossena and Aurelio, right back Arbeloa and occassionally Carragher – allowing Agger and Skrtel to play together in the middle. This feels fairly strong to approach the second half of the season but is it strong enough? Only time will tell. Thanks as always for reading. Paul
DIC are closing in on their football club purchase. But it will in the East end not Liverpool. They are fed up with messing about with the Liverpool board and will purchase West Ham for £150million. A reasonably modest budget of £50million will be made available for the January window. Zola will be given until the end of the season to prove himself, before being given carte blanche in the summer to get the club challenging for Europe within the next two seasons.
Reports today suggested Aaron Lennon could be heading to Anfield in a swop deal with Jermaine Pennant
Expect so see some very significant expenditure at Arsenal in January and will be the EPL's biggest spenders. AW wants to clear out some dead wood and add to the squad.

I was passing Old Trafford last week and saw Bentley and Jags there. Its nice what cars football players can afford these days.
Now don't shoot the messenger. But my dad has been working up near Wolverhampton, and got talking to a certain Jack Hayward.
Anyway, Hayward was mentioning that Mick McCarthy is not going to be in charge of Wolves for much longer, due to the Sunderland post coming up at such an opportune time.
My dad laughed at this and thought nothing of it, and told Hayward so, Hayward then went on to explain that Quinn has a lot of time for McCarthy, and understands that given the right resources (like he had at Ireland), that he can get players performing again and reuniting the team.
He also went on to explain that McCarthy sees this as an opportunity to get one over on Keane, and get the team playing again and achieving heights that Keane couldn't take the team to.
Hayward even went on to say that the reason that negotiations are taking so long is that McCarthy is adamant that Jack Charlton join him at the club as his Director of Football and Dennis Irwin as his assistant manager.
Quinn feels that mcCarthy was never given a fair crack of the whip @ Sunderland previously, and that the fans whilst some would be against it understand that Quinn is going to do what is best for the club.
The only thing being the lack of a box office name, but it is believed that Short would rather have someone in sooner rather than later, regardless of how Sbragia is doing.

NEWCASTLE AND CELTIC: BREAKINGNEWS
Ameobi will deffunately sugn for celtic within the next week. I saw him at Parkhead with club officials and he is definately going to sign by January 1st. Newcatsle are looking to offload the striker to pave the way for Spurs striker Geovanni Dos Santos and Robbie Keane. If the Keane transfer fails, Newcastle will turn their attention to Celtic striker Samaras who has been scoring for fun despite having injury problems. Newcastle are also looking to bring in Tony Hibbert as backup for Beye to increase the squad.
Rumour out this way is that Spurs are eyeing Hull keeper Boaz Myhill as a potential replacement/competition for Gomes. This has caused Phil Brown to look towards Norwich's David Marshall as a potential replacement.
However, it's understood that Rangers are watching Marshall as Allan McGregor fancies a move to the Premiership one day.

As a Rangers fan myself, I'd like to add my name to the list of Celtc fans and realistic Rangers fans that know the Arshavin transfer will never happen. Nor will a player of his quality come near Ibrox unless it's into the Away dressing room.
However, Rangers will have a mass clearout in January. Walter Smith only wants a small squad. Players like Adam, Burke, Hemdani, Smith will all be shipped out for relatively small fee. JCD will free up £20k per week if he leaves. Burke is also on £13k a week. JCD's new club will likely be Valenciennes and join up with cult hero Sebo. They are in advanced talks and a fee of around £200k looks likely.
Rangers are in the market for a defender. Although recently linked with Hearts skipper Berra and Sporting's Tonel, it seems that Walter has another one in mind. He is Martin Stranzl, the six–foot–three monster from Spartak Moskva. Personally, I'd love to see him at Ibrox as him presence is second to none. Being an international with over 50 caps will bring a vast amount of experience to the back line. Rangers are also crying out for a LM/W. Beasley is too lightweight for the SPL and every Rangers fan knows Walter doesn't give youth a chance. The loan deal for Aaron looks pointless now, he looks mega–talented, but it's Walter in charge.
On the dark–side of Glasgow, Celtc look like they will sell their star asset Aiden McGeady. Figures being banded about are around the £5m mark. It's for a quick sale and minimal disruption of the team.

Hearts players Christophe Berra and Andy Driver have confirmed that they have no wish to move to the old firm as they see those clubs as graveyards for the careers of young talent citing ,Derek Rheardon ,alan gow ,stephen thompson ,Stevie Neismith amongst others as an example ,they are only willing to move to an english premiership ,top championship or european side.
Larry Kingston set to move to either Bolton or West ham.
Hibs news ,Billy Mehmet of st mirren as told his agent to talk to hibs ,Hibs also looking at taking veteran player robbie savage on 6 month loan.
I've heard from a very reliable source at the club that Coventry and Sheffield United are in negotiations around a swap deal involving Elliot Ward, Chris Morgan and Keith Gillespie.
Celtic Targets

Zulusca (spelling?) from Dundee Utd will sign a pre–contract within the next few weeks, Celtic will offer Utd approx £200k to get him in the window but unsure if Craig Levin will sell him then for that amount. Celtic may offer Mark Brown as a swap deal.
James McCarthy from Hamilton will join for £1.25M upfront will another £.75M based on appearences.
Steve Fletcher from Hibs – £3M + Killen, although this may not happen until the summer.
Another young player from Barcalona will join with the same arrangement as Crosas, with Barca having the option to buy the player back for approx £2M in 2 years. Celtic are looking at 2 or 3 players at Barcalona but need to persude the players to come to the SPL.
Celtic will NOT be signing any players from the premiership due to the large wages for average players. Bellemy will NOT be coming back, he's on about £65K a week just now, Keane is on about £60K.
CSKA Sofia defender Ivan Ivanov for £400K is another name being linked.
Bosnian midfielder Semir Stilic from Lech Poznan has also been linked in a £2M deal.
McGeady looks certain to leave and Celtic will receive bout £7M for him.Hungarian international Szabolcs Huszti is expected to sign as his replacement (pre–contract although a small fee might bring him sooner)
Celtic know that they could sell McGeady and get all of these players for the McGeady fee.

I cant say if this will happen for definate but Celtic are making moves to sign Craig Bellamy on a permanent deal and Robbie keane on a short term loan deal with Aiden McGeady making a similar move to Anfield. Celtic definatly cant afford to sign Keane permanently but Liverpool will allow him to go to Celtic as long as they get Mcgeady on loan and have first option to buy him in the summer. I'm sure Keane and Mcgeady would jump at the move esspecially if it means Keane could win some silverware with his boyhood heroes and return to anfield in the summer with the confidence he is lacking just now and it allows McGeady to escape his nightmare at Celtic now after a bust up with Strachan and test himself in the premiership. Other teams are intrested in both players but neither Celtic or Liverpool will want to lose such quality players as the both push to win thier domestic leagues without replacing them with quality so watch with interest !
