Dallas utility midfielder Brek Shea, who was linked with Manchester United last summer, has made it clear that he would welcome a January move to England – but only if he can guarantee some playing time. With Jozy Altidore having made a reasonable success in Spain and now at Hull City, it would not be too much of a shock to see Hull make a move for Shea – who should cost around £2M. Another option could well be Fulham.
It has also been rumoured here in the US that Michael Bradley would welcome a move away from Borussia Mönchengladbach – but with a little under three years remaining on his contract and Mönchengladbach seeking a significant payment – perhaps as much as £10M, it will likely prove difficult to find any takers.
January will no doubt see more transfer movement involving American players with the World Cup coming up.

Rio Ferdinand is set to retire from professional football after falling out of love with the game. Rio's interests now lie in his business career and he believes that this can support his and his family's lifestyle while also allowing him more time to spend with his loved ones. Rio is prepared to wait until January before hanging up his boots to allow Sir Alex to find a replacement, reported to be Bolton's Gary Cahill. Sir Alex has not taken the news well and is trying to talk Rio out of it. He is telling Rio to win the League with United and the World Cup with England and then make a decision.
