Phil brown is desperate to take over at Swindon and has offered to take over on a short term contract to see the club through to the end of the season, the club have received 7 serious applications so far, smart money is on Buckle

Didn't Buckle leave Luton for personal reasons. Surely if so then he wouldn't be looking for work straight away.

Phil Brown is desperate to take over anywhere

He hinted on GMR recently that Bury would have been better appointing him than Kevin Blackwell

21 Feb 2013 07:47:34
The new owners will need to appease the fans at Swindon as they have had their idol taken away from them. So no to Buckle or Brown, we demand someone progressive to continue the good work Paolo started.

If that means a caretaker till the end of the season then a new man in after they have evaluated the squad so be it. This is how we got Paolo and how it should be for the new man.

We don't want anyone who wants to ride on the coat tails of the great man. They are very big shoes to fill, it won't be easy finding the feet to fill them, so in the mean time let's keep Ward and Miller in charge who can keep continuity.

No no no Buckle I like Brown will do a good job, or hasslebanik

Spot on!

What are you on, continue the good work Paolo has done, get on the planet, PDC has done an amazing job, but we will not have any cash with these new owners, the new manager will work in a very tight budget the same way previous managers have, that my friend is why PDC walked, he needs money to cover up his own mistakes.

Money buys quality which brings sucess there is no cheap road to success

Nigel reo-Coker is on his way back to Bolton after rejecting offers from top MLS clubs!

He was awful for us at Ipswich good luck

Rejected other offers, well if other clubs saw his performances for itfc this season can only be from mls as this guy was pretty hopeless

He won't go back to Bolton, they have adequate midfield options now with Holden back from injury and in any case NRC has agreed to join Vancouver.

Doncaster are tracking Oldham captain' Dean Furman and hope to have him in their squad for saturday.

Ha ha nice joke, amazing how our Cup run has started all sorts of rumours.

21 Feb 2013 00:12:41
Not really a 'joke'. You're not going to win the cup and he's got the chance to play for a club that's in with the chance of winning the league. Not really a difficult decision to make

How can they have in squad for sat when its out of transfer window?

The loan window - have you heard of it?

Absolute no chance. We've been waiting for him to come back from AFCON, he's our captain and he's scored in his last game. Not to mention he will be playing at Everton in a week. This rumour is ridiculous, he's going nowhere yet

Yep you AREN'T as you've signed a kid from Burnley reserves instead. Least let our player and Chairman know that you want Furman.

hang on a minute its all made up as usual.

If furman leaves latics, I would hope it would be to a champ standard team and not a team that will come straight back down, if they somehow get promoted this year. big physical team who can't mix it up. furman wouldn't suit poor football tactics like under dickov, he struggled.

22 Feb 2013 01:24:30
Brian Flynn as said he is interested in Furman, but will not be making a move to sign him yet

Where do you hear this trash? We find and nurture talent and then clubs come in for them. They might be good even great players for the Latics, but doesn't mean they will be suited to other clubs. Shows the lack of talent at Doncadter if Furman can go and slot into first team football! Crack on. He won't be cheap.

Err he's you're captain talk about lack of talent, oh and wheres oldham in the league!

Drfc your stil in the fa cup aren't you? oh i forgot we knocked you out!

Championship side Derby County will sign Blackpool left sided defender Stephen Crainey on a 2/3 year deal at the end of the season after his contract has expired. {Ed003's Note - 12 month option on Craineys contract}

I did not know about the option of the extra year. I only heard about the main deal taking place. Is the option if an extra year triggered by crainey if he wants to extend his time at the club or will it be the club derogative to activate the extra year?

The club decides whether or not to extend the contract.

It is up to the club to trigger the option. They may well not do so if they don't want Crainey's wages

20 Feb 2013 16:49:26
MK Dons are in talks with free agent Keanue Marsh-Brown. Marsh-Brown was on loan at the League 1 side two years ago from Fulham and was highly rated by the club. He is set to sign a short term contract until the end of the season.

If you knew why KM-B left the club you'd know that there was absolutely no chance of this happening.

Not welcome by the players or management.

Stephane Zubar will be recalled from his loan at Bury as Bournemouth's defence injury crisis worsens.

Purches and Addisson are out for the season. Elphick for another four weeks and Daniels could be out for the season.

There is also uncertainity still surronding Steve Cook and his re-trial.

Thus, leaving Bournemouth with only 3/4 recognised defenders (depending on Cooks trial) and 2 make shift defenders, in Ritchie and Partington.

Steve's re-trial has been set for may 6th, so out of season.

Lets get one thing right once and for all. The first trial didn't affect Cook's performance infact he got better. Also second trial will be in May so anyone hoping for AFCB to start slipping. dream on!

21 Feb 2013 17:44:00
still top of the league

Not after ritchie bags a cheeky hatrick at the weekend

Stfc No Management and now no pictures on the wall ~ all gone! afcb UTCIAD

Bubble has burst, even with players out, play offs will be out of there reach no strength in midfield lacking a robinson or bartlet to get them home to many attacking midfielders struggle against more physical teams sheffield utd and teams in top 8, lack of depth, next year maybe

Steady on, still plenty of games left, don't lose faith!

20 Feb 2013 12:52:31
Doncaster Rovers have signed Everton u21 midfielder John Lundstram on loan for one month

Big signing, guess our esteem welsh manager will be able to talk us to promotion as he previously stated, when are we going to make any decent signings, Mondays performance was diabolical, what a joke!

Are you for real? Decent young signing, better placed in the league than we thought we would be, and having dealt with a substantially reduced budget. Stopping moaning and being negative and get behind the team. RTID

Bet he dose'nt even start on Saturday
Our welsh hero will start with same old brigade Harper and the like, what about De Canio for next season, or now!

Yet another cheapo signing, who'sgot
No chance of playing on Saturday, what about a striker we need to get back on track, but we always have can't hit a barn door Paynter, unless the board get there finger out we will be lucky to Finnish in top ten

I agree, the board want us to cough our
hard earned cash for next season tickets in advance, surely it's time for these guys to show some commitment to us fans and back us up by signings,, to at least give us a chance of promotion, if not there won't be many fans being taken for mugs regarding season ticket renewals

Come on Rovers board, get rid of Fiynn
Just look at his previous club management record, it's pathetic, feel sorry for Rob Jones, not been same since yet another welsh man David Williams was appointed, Rob Jones for manager

20 Feb 2013 12:16:25
Burton Albion have received four offers for their influential midfielder Jacques Maghoma, offers of which will be deals for the summer.
Scottish side Kilmarnock are apparently leading the race for the former Tottenham youngster after having their bid accepted. Maghoma is expected to hold talks with Killie before the season ends.
League 2 promotion rivals Cheltenham Town, Championship side Derby County and League 1 promotion challengers Sheffield United have also made bids but are thought to be behind the Scottish side for his signature.

Why would maghama leave burton albion when they are near the top three piostions

Why would maghama leave burton albion when they are near the top three piostions

I think the poster is referring to the Summer transfer window. when the season is over!

20 Feb 2013 09:30:29
Man utd set to lose Nani to Juventus and Valencia to Real
Madrid, they are set to replace them with Angel Di Maria
and they already have Zaha coming in the summer after his
loan at Crystal Palace ends in June.

Why would rm swap angel di maria for valencia

Nani, well, I hope he stays but if he leaves, we will cope. Just not under £25mil Sir Alex :).
Valencia I would like to see the back of, he's a one trick pony and I'd be amazed if anyone payed £15+ mil.
Zaha, maybe a future first team player but I think overhyped slightly.

Im a palace fan and you reli ver paid on zah he's ok trys to do to much greedy would of signed ince instead

20 Feb 2013 09:20:42
Palace are tracking a young Scottish striker - Archie Campbell & Roy Krishna from New Zealand

Krishna is awful.
Would not cut it for Palace, who in 3-4 years will be in the BPL.
Glenn Murray is subject to a £3-5m bid from Swansea, what do you think of that.

His brother Harry is better!

20 Feb 2013 07:19:32
Yeovil are looking at Harry Forrester of Brentford. The lad is out of contract in the summmer and Yeovil look ready to pounce.

20 Feb 2013 09:06:25
I'd like to think that Harry Potter would be a better choice

If he goes to Yeovil I will be (pleasantly) suprised.
I like Yeovil but if he is out of contract in the summer then why don't some mid table - relegation championship clubs pick him up?

Harry Forrester to Yeovil.
haha
Thats a good one best to wait untill April the 1st.

He's been looked at by several premier league clubs. and. you say. Yeovil

Its fair to say you have no chance in this he's attracting the likes of Aston Villa, Norwich, Celtic, Southampton, Ipswich and Hull City and more I think and he would probably stay with us than go to another league one team NO CHANCE

20 Feb 2013 21:08:49
Yeovil are a good development side - bring players on and make best of them - possibly true

20 Feb 2013 22:52:21
You can keep him! Wouldn't want him at Yeovil thanks! Thanks for the 6 points this season anyway! :)

We'd love to keep him thanks. Good luck keeping hold of Madden!

21 Feb 2013 11:00:46
What do you think Brentford have done with him he won't go Yeovil trust me and Brentford have one of the best development squads around at the moment I think whoever put this rumour up has jumped the gun slightly and you can have the 6 pts if we win our games in hand we will be right back in the mix

21 Feb 2013 13:46:55
Good! you'll see how well Maddens doing next season when he's 'banging em in' for us in the championship! :) thanks.

You won't keep hold of him lol

I do have to say harry forrester looked a poor player when he played against yeovil

Yeovil in the Championship? your having a laugh! Mickey Mouse wears a Yeovil Watch.

20 Feb 2013 01:07:59
Oldham's mercutio attacking midfielder Jose Baxter could be leaving Boundary Park in the summer. A bid of £500,000 would be enough to see him leave.

Wasn't Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet? Mercurial sounds more like it.

Much more than that I think!

No chance, he's just signed a 2 and a half year deal he's going nowhere

Don't have to sell him as we have made over a million in the FA CUP plus he does love it at Oldham.

Maybe a million yeah but he will also still have 2yrs left on his contract so 500,000 is a poor offer.

20 Feb 2013 01:04:50
Derby County are monitoring the Swindon situation very closely at the moment. Clough is a big fan of striker James Collins and central defender Aden Flint. Flint who was a regular with Derbyshire side Alfreton was on Derby's radar a few seasons back and has impressed scouts this season.

Coterril will be next Manager at Swindon Town.
New owners now hold 99% of the club that is now Debt Free.
The only debt that's was owed was to the former owner.
So for all those who said Swindon would fold you just look who is at the top of Division 1

20 Feb 2013 00:58:01
Jacques Maghoma is being scouted by 4 clubs. Derby County, Bristol City, Bournemouth and Shrewsbury are monitoring the situation carefully.

Jacques Maghoma doing really well, a brilliant player who can play across the midfield and he will be a very good addition for Derby plus he can go on a free at the end of the season. he will be even much better playing with better players

As a Derby fan I hope we sign Jacques Maghoma, I've been following him since his Spurs time he is a top player and down to earth lad. Get him Derby

Come to Bristol Jacques and help us avoid relegation

Jacques Maghoma is the player in demand no surprise he's the best player in league 2. a Championship player minimum and I am surprise he's playing in league2 in the first place. hope Leeds sign him but we have to hurry up because Leicester and Charlton also want him

21 Feb 2013 17:12:10
Can't see him going to Leeds as they had their chance
when he had a trial but they let him go.

Oldram

How can he be a 'championship player minimum' if he isn't even proven in league one? league one is vastly different in class to league two

Agree in class Shrewsbury fan, Richards was one of the best players in League 2 and he has been poor in League 1

20 Feb 2013 00:28:07
Tranmere Rovers in talks to sign Bolton striker Tom Eaves on loan

So are 4 other clubs

He's gone to Shrewsbury this morning (Thurs)
