On a more realsitic note, sturrdige is a possibility, but may want first team football which he may struggle to get at liverpool, but we may be the only team willing/capable of paying the asking price.
LB cissohko was smokescreen for another lb, he was deemed to unreliable by King kenny, everton wouldnt conseider selling baines to lfc, and enrique may come but only at a less than 8 million price. Finally Godin looks likely to be targeted only with aplyer like poulson goiing the other way.

We don't have any of the Matt Mills money to spend as part of being a well run club means that that £5million will cover our operating losses. Both were targets for Gary Megson's Sheffield Wednesday but were not confident about their promotion push under the former Bolton manager.

Stockport County rumoured to be looking at George Donnelly, the former County striker has fallen down the pecking order at Fleetwood Town after signing for them, from Plymouth last January. Stockport could follow through with this as their hopes of bringing fans favourite Liam Dickinson back to the club are fading by the day, after he was released just weeks after he signed for Plymouth.

Before I begin my observation, I must say that I am a fan of Nottingham Forest Football Club and that my company is a service provider to NFFC, LCFC and other clubs.
Observing the Maynard deal, it is quite clear that Bristol City believe he will sign a new deal, as they have probably already received offers far in excess of his true value (£2.5m in my view).
I recall that the last offer made was in the region of £5m. The talk on this website is exceeding £6.5m, which I feel Bristol City will probably accept such a fee. However, I feel they're probably working tirelessly behind the scenes to give Maynard a new contract, because in 10 months time, he's on a free...
I think Leicester City know that they're in a very strong position for promotion this season and, having declared their interest in the player, will make a move for Maynard in January when they could sign him for a lower value (Six months on contract) or May, upon promotion for absolutely nothing, (apart from his wages).
If he truly wanted out of BCFC, he would surely have handed in a transfer request by now or BCFC will have cottoned onto the fact that he would not sign within next 12 months.
I doubt Leicester, despite their apparent moneypit, will spend more than £5m on him, in all circumstances, it's a gamble, one season in the Championship for £5m or know the player wants to leave, sign him in 11 months time for free.
Remember, despite the financial clout of football, it is a business and demands savvy people. LCFC wont pay over the odds, there are others about for less a price. Maynard is average Championship and will never play for a consistant Premier League club. I admit, he's had a good couple of seasons (Despite injuries), but even in the current climate, is not worth a penny over £5m.

I'm not an Everton fan as such as I owe my allegiance to the Seasiders (Blackpool) but as my former boss at work is a mad keen Everton supporter I think i have been indoctrinated as I always seem to look for the Blues results first after the'Pool's.
