Rafael Benitez will sign his new contract within a matter of days. Every detail he requires has been agreed, but he does want to include a clause in his contract that will allow him to be released from his contract IF the Yanks sell up and the new owners cannot guarantee significant investment in the team. The length of the deal is four years, plus the remainder of his current deal, so altogether, Rafa's contract will end in the Summer of 2014. The Americans have again promised him that if they are still there there will be funds for one big name signing, and then funds for squad players and he will get the money from departures. I have heard many names being mentioned from my contacts, the most significant and surprising is Carlos Tevez. He wants to remain at United but if he leaves, his love for them may be too much to join their fierce rivals but watch this space.

Liverpool to sign Aguero and Santi Cazorla in the summer.The Aguero deal has been put in place with a wile and if Atletico demand Alonso in the deal Rafa is willing to let him go.Cazorla will cost in the region of 8–10million.Rafa likes him as he will give width on both wings.A new right back will also be looked at but havnt got any news of any targets yet.
I have it on good authority from my mate at NUFC that Owen has already told the club he is looking elsewhere and that he has approached Liverpool himself offering to rejoin then on a mega cut price £30k per week. OK, so lets get a reality check for the Liverpool fans out there.
1) Rafa will not be your manager next season. He will move on to a big club where he will have more control. This could be Spain, but most likely Italy.
2) Torres will leave once Rafa leaves the club – the sale will not go to new transfers as the money will be used to off–set the huge debt that the club as incurred.
3) With no Rafa at the helm, the Americans will have a difficult time selling the club.
And lastly, please stop posting Villa and Aguero transfer fees lower than $35M. .they will not go for lower than that anywhere. STOP the ingnorance.

During the summer, yes I believe City will be able to attract any footballer they wish. It is not like January, where they are already committed to their current teams cause. For the right money, and the right promises of team mates and the like – especially if City replace Hughes and Cook with recognized winners – City will not have trouble selling players on coming to the club. If you truly believe football players aren't all about money, you're simply naive.
Is it too much like fantasy football? Perhaps, but they can afford it, and there are no salary restrictions in this game – EVERYONE has their price.
I honestly don't agree mate! Yes alot of people will move for money and money alone (it won't be the top rung of football players maybe the odd one but more along the lines of the players with the potential to be world class)but can you see the likes of Messi saying i know Barca are a great team i'm happy here and i will win titles but if i go to Man City i can double my pay and win fck all (at the moment)! Its a step down in footballing terms!! Money doesn't mean much to some of these players as they alreay get paid ridiculos amounts! City aren't even in a european place and i highly doubt they will finish in one so that's attractive isn't it!! Even with lots of world class players who says city are going to do anything? I'm a Liverpool fan and a mad one at that and i can honestly say its going to take city years to get anywhere near the standard there city rivals are!! (The type of teams the world class players want to play for who have a rich history and are actually going places!!) I don't mean any disrespect to city fans with all this but it is just common sense!!
Torres summed it up in an interview a few months back when he was linked with city he said something along the lines of.
"When i finish my career do i want to look back and look at my medals and trophy's and think about all the things i've won or sit there and count my money and think about what could have been"
As for City being able to attract any player they want!! Thats laughable!! What happened to Kaka at crimbo eh?? They want Torres Gerrard and C. Ronaldo i guarentee none of them will play for city ever in there career this is not footy manager its real life so get a grip of it!!!

Somebody who is a member of afterthewhistle.net has made reference to a story about Alan Shearer. They are wrong about the dates. I know cos this one came from me originally. I play for a northern league side and we have a five a side team in the Wearside League. Beardsley plays against us and he told me that Shearer has signed up with Ashley to take over at St James, but NOT UNTIL the end of the season. It's right about Rob Lee coming in as his number two but that's widely known anyway. Lads in the game call Lee 'Shearer's Butler' because he worships the guy and will do anything he asks him too.

Celtic's Paul Hartley will move back to Hearts on a pre–contract agreement in the summer. Hearts are also interested in taking highly rated Hartlepool United striker James Brown, who netted 14 goals from midfield last season.
Hibernian and Hearts are battling to sign Falkirk defender Darren Barr. Hearts desperately need a defender to replace Christophe Berra and Hibs try to add him in place for Rob Jones, who will return to England at the end of season. Both see him as a long term replacement

I can reveal that Liverpool , Cotribia and Keirrison`s third party were in intense talks on deadline day about a deal for Keirrison but talks ended in the last couple of hours of the window because Liverpool were only prepared to pay 9m but needed to pay 12m to get him Liverpool wanted to see how he played at Palmeries on loan and they have been impressed so a 12m deal will be done as soon as the summer window opens.
