age is updated several times a day. Last update: 08:59:30 GMT+1

Sheffield United are battleing with Sunderland for the signature of Thomas Gravesen. The Blades are also looking at the possibilty of signing Craig Beattie, this is true as its been confirmed by sources in Sheffield. Lee Hendrie is also a possibility. The rumour surrounding Alex Bruce seems to have died down so don't know if United are going to take this further.

Some football rumours coming up in a minute but it makes me laugh to read rumours such as Owen – > Arsenal for 12 million. Everyone knows Owen has a 9 million release fee in his contract so he won't leave for anything more than that unless Chelsea use their finances and bid someting stupid.

I Live up in the north east and currently word is Martins will leave to join Valencia for 13 million (his release fee) if not expect to see none other than Julio Baptista at Valencia for around 6 million, also there is a chance Michael Owen will join Man United for 7 million + Alan Smith/ Mikael Silvestre.

Ian Harte is wanted by Sunderland

Saha still been linked with Lyon

Reyes to join Atletico Madrid/ Seville

 MAN U RUMOURS

1. Rossi is going nowhere in the summer. he will get his chance in first team action.

2. If pique doesn't stay he will be going to Barcelona in a 8 mil swap deal for eidur gudjonsson (spelling).

3. 1 striker will be brought in but they won't be spending big on a striker unless they sell a few players for a decent amount. they will spend from 8 mil to 14 mil on one. most likely to be gudjonsson or maybe Robinho, but he may have a big price tag on him.

Everton FC could be set to sign Ricardo Faty from A. S. Roma on a season long loan, the 21 year old French defensive midfielder wants regular first team action and Moyes would be happy with the amount of fixtures next season. A. S. Roma would be happy to send him to Goodison like Matteo Ferrari in 2005 and they believe fatty would benefit from a season in the premier league.

Fernando Torres WILL be moving to Anfield in te summer. Do not expect a deal for this to be completed soon. George Gillett will send his son Foster over to Merseyside to act as a catalyst with all transfers. Foster will arrive within the next 2–3 weeks. Expect Mark Gonzalez to be part of the deal to take Torres to Anfield. The deal is said to be worth £25–27 million plus Gonzalez

Dan the Main Man here again by popular demand. watch as Tyson and Holt leave this week. Dargo and Andrew Cole will come in along with DJ Campbell as part exchange for Tyson. Only I have the MAin access to these facts.

 AVFC – Inside Info

Sneijder has turned down Spurs in Favour of a move to VP, expect activity on this front next week.

Babel is not on MON's shopping list, Reo–Coker is a Villa player, just waiting on a medical.

MON has enquired about Royston Drenth and De Ridder.

There have been ongoing talks with a world class striker, I have not been told names because it is top secret at the club and if its leaked they don't want uproar and excitement from the fans if it is not pulled off, but the rumour doing the rounds in the offices at VP are that this will be the transfer coup of the summer and apparently is going to cost in excess of £20 million. We have had bets in the office on Villa, Torres, Huntelaar.

Dan the Main Man here again. forget these pale imitations, only I have the REAL facts. Forest are looking to recruit a past legend to the club to help sway opinion regards the new stadium. Maybe Nigel Clough or maybe Teddy Sherringham. Do not be fooled by these other pretenders.

AFC NEWS Ok can we stop all of the nonsense about Arsenal having no money.Money is available around £40 million as Arsenal took out a credit agreement when the Emirates was built so as not to be at a disadvantage in the transfer market.

Ryan Babel (Ajax), Klaas January Huntelaar (Ajax) and Joao Moutinho (sporting lisbon) are all targets and Arsene Wenger has agreed to meet all of the players buy–out Clauses.

Bakary Sangna is not coming to Arsenal and never was the interest was only there to raise the price that other clubs will have to pay? There is only one defender that Arsene is interested in and that is Micah Richards who will definatley sign for Arsenal next summer as I believe an agreement has been struck with his club and the player.

 To the WEST HAM fan

you said Everton won't be challenging for honours next season we are in Europe and looking good. you Hammers might be playing in the championship so you guys cannot say anything.

anyway David Nugent has been given permision to speak to 2 clubs them clubs are Everton and Sunderland he will sign next Wednesday for a fee of 6 million pounds 100% true.

To all of the people that keep saying that they are going to sign Freddy Eastwood. The only clubs that have made bids are Norwich and Wolves and they have been rejected. It looks like Southend are playing hardball with the championship clubs at the moment hoping that a Premiership club will come in with a higher bid. They've already rejected a bid for £1.5 million so get real. I personally can't see Norwich getting both Eastwood and sharp but I'd like to see it happen

 Common sense Arsenal news.

Wenger has said he is staying. Henry will stay, just wants some investment in the team.

Wenger wants a winger, he said that. either Reyes stays or his buys a replacement.

the team needs cover at full back, hence looking at sagna, who can play either right or left. Eboue will be gone in janruary and Traore is 17 and the only back up left back. maybe micah Richards and then Gallas as cover on the left, depends on the price.

in addition the team need a striker and a midfielder who gets stuck in. expect yaya Toure. Wenger will then look to get Huntelaar and probably Babel too. that's it. 2 players who can compete for starting places, cover at the back, and prospects.

boywonder

I'm not a mate of a mate of a burger seller who knows a groundsman who is the cousin of someone at a big club, but I have a few bits of information.

CELTIC

Expect Donati to be at Celtic Park next Friday for pre–season training. 4 year deal, £23k per week, £2.5 million from AC Milan.

Delvecchio may still join, but he is second choice. First choice is Appiah, who has commited to giving Celtic an answer before midweek next week, for an appearance at pre–season training. Also holding things up is the fee, which may or may not involve a swap for Gravesen.

Rigters is already signed. Signed before the U–21 game the other night, will be at pre–season training next week.

Doumbe is stalling as high wage demands.

Roy Makaay is still on the radar and may still join.

Which leaves outs: Gravesen (Fenerbahce), Beattie (Gretna, season loan), Riordan (Gretna, season loan), Hartley (Hibs), Pressley (Gretna or Hibs).

RANGERS

Whittaker, McCulloch, Cuellar to sign. Thats it. No outs as squad is slim at the moment.

Any truth in the rumour on BBC site of Everton having had two bids for Chris Gunter turned down. For those amongst you who do not know who he is, 17 year old right back who plays for Cardiff City. If true, how much – there must be an Everton 'insider' out there who has an idea.

 Hi all, Dingo again.

my dad's mate (MA's neighbour, remember? ) said he saw Nigel Clough going into the city ground last night, and he didn't leave until late.

Also, Forest are set to unveil the signing of Leo Fortune–West on Monday.

Peace out, Dingo.

Depending on Liverpool's budget this summer, Rafa is extremely interested in Steven Taylor. If he is given enough cash, he could offer 15 MILLION + Hyypia for the England U–21 Star. I have to admit, from my sources, it is unlikely Rafa will have 15 million to spend on a central defender although Rafa considers him to be the Next Jamie Carragher.

To the Know it all Hammers fan – for your information big sam was offered Anton Ferdinand, but turned him down as he is is not confident he can make the step up. also give me one good reason why Owen will join West Ham? money? he is already on over 100 grand at Newcastle and it can't be ambition from a team who avoided relagation on the last day of the season. face it even Darren Bent turned you down you really are deluded.

Mike Ashleys black and white army

Rafael Benitez is to be given 50 MILLION for Transfers:

1. S. Taylor + S. Harper for Cisse + Hyypia + 8 million

2. Torres and Maxi Rodriguez for 27 million + Garcia.

3. Florent Malouda for 15 million

4. Billy Sharp for 3 million

Alan Smith to Newcastle. £3.5 million deal

There will be major changes and fresh faces at Barcelona this season. Rijkaard wants to ensure that players are determined and want to do well and not just rest on what they have achieved.

–Thierry Henry will join for 21 million from Arsenal

–Eric Abidal will join for 7 million from Lyon

–Danielle De Rossi will join for 14 million from Roma

–Florent Malouda will join for 13 million from Lyon

–Rodrigo Palacio will join for 13 million from Boca J's

–Samuel Eto'o will leave for 33 million

–Sylvinho will leave for 1 million

–Javier Saviola will leave for free

–Maxi Lopez will leave for 4 million

–Eidur GudJohnsen will leave for 7 million

–Santiago Ezquerro will leave for free

–Krcic and Dos Santos will leave on loan

–Thiaggo Motta will leave for 4 million

–Jorquera will leave for 1 million

–Edmilson will leave for free

Valdes–Zambrotta–Puyol–Marquez–Abidal–de Rossi–Xavi–Deco–Messi–Ronaldinho–Henry

Ruben–Oleeguer–Gio–Malouda–Palacio–Giuly–Iniesta

I'm the guy who said Nani and anderson to United in Jan it has now happened. I have quite a few contacts in the game, mostly scouts, I now know that Drenthe (who has been in top for at U–21 champs) will sign for NUFC next week for £4 mill. Also Man United have agreed a deal for Veloso he will sign in Jan. Elano is going to either West Ham or Spurs in the next month. AVFC have signed the most wanted swede in the world. Pontus Jonsson from Malmo, he may be only just 16 but Villa are spending nearly £600,000 on him they will also sign youngsters Andreas Weinann From Rapid Vienna and Dominic Hoffbaur from sturm Graz. the last one is unlikely but possible, Anthony Vanden Borre is going to Chelsea for £8.0 million+ Diarra on loan

CJ

West Ham are very close to landing Tim Cahill and Arteta from Everton, big money, £21 million + Zamora and Reo–Coker in exchange. Cahill is very keen to move to a club that will challenge for major honours next season as he feels that EFC will not be able to compete against the might of the newly taken over clubs and the bitter EFC fans know it.

No chance Aguero signs instead of Torres, i'd love aguero at LFC but we ain't gettin him for 9 mil, his buyout is more than Torres's. FACT.Liverpool will sign Torres, of course Raf won't pay 27 mil but he'll pay 20 + Luis Garcia. Also expect Forlan and Simao for Cisse. + MB+

Man United to sign Nelson from Benfiica for 5 million as a future replacement for Gary Neville as the have now got future cover for Giggs and Scholes in Nani and Anderson. Man United also to sign a striker probably Huntelaar (14 million) or Owen (9 million) as both Smith and Saha are to leave. SAF also wants to give Rossi his chance.

Sounds really corny cause 'a mate of a mate' is such bull, but I have a friend who delivers goods to Melwood on a regular basis. Not that anyone knows what Rafa is thinking but the big rumours, and that is all they are, circulating that Torres is the top target but LFC will not be held to ransom and if the deal goes above their ceiling level LFC will pull out regardless. they are not going for Simao because of the way Benfica behaved during the last neg', and Parry is deliberately winding them up saying they are interested. MG Pederson is too pricey, unless Bellamy can be convinced to go back 'home'. Alves is just an auction going haywire and LFC are not convinced on his defensive qualities in the Premiership. Mancini is a going concern, however they will bid no more than around 14 Million. At least Owen is definitely not wanted at LFC, personally I think good, he should rot for asking to leave in 2004, serves him right and his comments 'i want to win trophies, and I won't at Liverpool'. Well at least he has the intertoto winners medal to add to. '

My mate is mates with this guy who knows the groundsman at Sunderland, and he said that Forlan is 100% to sign within the next week. Also expect Roy Keane to bring in a big name midfielder, like Shaun Wright Phillips. He also hasn't given up on Alan Smith yet, rateing him at about £5 mil.

Insider GOD

I have just seen none other then Luke chadwick leave homepark with a beaming smile on his face and a few hours later I seen Kevin Phillips in a range rover driving through Plymouth city centre come on you greens x

Alan Smiths flexibility seems to be the key to his future at Newcastle. With the futures of Owen and Martins in the press constantly it is the fact that in recent games for Man United Smiths passing and all round play could play him into a regular first position. Allardyce likes to play with three CF's at times and Smith seems to cover this tactic ie midfield when they don't have the ball and CF when they do.

But don't worry Owen and Obe will stay.

 Arsenal

Secret bids planned to gazump Benfica for the signing of Corinthians striker Nilmar (pending medical and work permit) and use Denilson's influence to sign "seal–dribbler" Kerlon. Both these deals use the personal involvement of Gilberto Silva who threatened to leave if Julio Baptista was signed permanently by the club due to a huge falling out between the two.

Reyes may be offloaded for as little as £9 million. Henry may leave but only if Deco and Eto'o arrive in return.

Villa to complete double swoop of Royston Drenthe and Nigel Reo Coker by next week

Craig Bellamy Signs for West Ham with one more to follow before Saturday.

Miles Palmer has released some info on Arsenal. He says we will sign full back Bakary Sagna (for £6. 75 million), Ryan Babel from (for £6 million) and David Trezeguet (for £8 million). All are expected to be completed next Wednesday and are being held up by the Under-21 tournament. We are also linked with Miguel Veloso of Sp. Lisbon, a deal may be in the pipeline.

 WHL Update

The log jam at the Lane should clear shortly. With Fulham prepared to pay an eye–watering £3.5 million+ for Mido (who kept so fit last year putting out the cones in training), Bent D looks like getting his way to WHL for an inflated £14 million. Defoe to Man United for a surprising £10 million. Repeated intelligence 'chatter' around the pool tables&bookies of N London suggests a bid 4 Scholes, seems iffy given his fear of going outside West Midlands but it keeps coming up.

Wes Sneijder deal gazzumped – also to midlands, intent it seems on a season of lower–mid table banality.

£20 is quite the bargain for the following. "Arsenal will sign Renato augusto £10 and alexandre Pato £10".

On a serious note Arsenal will not pay £10 million for youngsters. Expect an offer for Torres including Reyes and some money with a possibility of Merida on loan. Liverpool being his favoured destination this doesn't look too likely.

Arsenal will struggle this year but Theirry will stay. The money, IF spent, will be done in January, with the possibilty of a striker bought soon and a non African Nations defender.

Expect Senderos to be on his way out.

With regards to youngsters, Watford are in the frame for a few loans, namely Traore. Other developments may chnage this however.

To the delusional Hammers fan ranting about Owen going to West Ham, get real mate you've just been turned down by Darrent Bent ffs. Reasons why Owen won't go to West Ham. 1 – The Times (the paper Owen has a column in) says he will stay, 2 – Owen is a country boy and likes living outside of cities he did it at Liverpool by living in Wales, his house in Northumberland is miles from anywhere in teh countryside and he hated life in the city of Madrid, 3 – NUFC don't want Ferdinad, Allardyce is on record saying recently he wants experienced players to help Taylor develop, 4 – the get out Clause in his contract can only be activated by a team IN European competition, it only became active becuase nufc failed to reach the Uefa cup. The rumour I heard is that NUFC will beat Arsenal to the signing of fullback Bakary Sagna becuase they will outbid the price Wenger feels is reasonable for the young French player, Auxerre are in no need to sell Sagna cheaply with Spurs closing in on Kaboul the price will be similar to what Spurs are paying Auxerre for Kaboul (around £8–9 million).

Newcastle to press on with completion of several signings in the next few days, confirmed with a press conference the start of next week. The Rozenhal deal shall be completed by the end of play Friday followed by Luke Young for approx 4 mil and then Alan Smith for around the same.

Owen and Martins have comitted their futures to the club with Martins being offered a pay rise to cover the lack of signing on fee from his Inter transfer. Juventus will try and trigger the buy out Clause.

With Mike Ashley's stake in the club rising by the day expect Allardyce to be given a figure for his war chest, though meagre at first Ashley will back a big money transfer if he thinks it is needed.

Duff to move across to Sunderland with the rest of the old school Irish lads. Carr too maybe joining him as he has not impressed at SJP for a while and Allardyce has asked him to prove his fitness and, more importantly, his hunger. Expect to see Ian Harte return from Spain with the unlikely return of Robert to the North East, thankfully not at Newcastle.

 ARSENAL NEWS

Arsenal will pay Ryan Babel's buy–out Clause of £6 million to Ajax as soon as the Under-21 tournament is finished. Gaurdado a young Mexican left–winger will join subject to a work–permit. Wenger will try for a top striker but will probably be priced out of Huntelaar so McCarthy/ Owen/ Anelka are possible but the most likely is Trezeguet for £4 million.

Renato Augusto will arrive in January along with Carlos Vela. Additional signings will be the usual crop of talented youngsters.

Leaving will be Reyes £8–10 million, Flamini £3 million, Mumba, Aliadiere already gone. Arsenal trying to shirt Ljungberg because he's on big wages but Freddie wants to stay. West Ham might be able to match his wage demands though.

Basically forget big name signings, its not and never will be Wenger's style. Plus look at the money he has to compete against.

Man United £50 million already

Chelsea – bottomless pit

Liverpool – Promised bucketloads

West Ham – Rich enough to bid £18 million for Bent.

Newcastle – always big spenders

Spurs – flashing a lot of money

Villa – new guys spending too.

I expect all these to out spend Arsenal this year

Riquelme. it started apparently as a rumour from the B. kipper boys, But it' building isn't it?

Just behind AJ eh?

Imagine?

Anyhow, Leighton Baines to Everton for 4.5 mil by next Wednesday. definitely

 Reading FC transfers

Reading are hoping to complete a double signing in the coming days with Kevin Mirallas and Mathieu Debuchy both joining from lille for a believed combined fee of £8 million. Reading also want to bring Tom Soares to the club, he has strong links to the town as he was born there and his brother Louie used to be a Reading player. Reading are also looking at Cardiff's Joe Ledley and newly promoted Derby's Dean Leacock.

Hayden Mullins will not be joining nor will koumas.

On the way out of the madejski will be:

Shane Long on a seasons long loan to Leicester

Stephen Hunt to Villa

Alan Bennet will move to Derby as part of the leacock deal

Sam Sodje will make his move to WBA permanent

Sulky Hyeon is set to sign for FuLOLham for £2 million, leaving Reading fans in a state of laughter.

Roy Keane, the sly buggar, will do some quality deals in the summer. Firstly, they will pip us (Everton) to Nugent, as Moyes will place a last minute bid in for his services, expecting him to sign, but he'll go to the Stadium of Light instead. Then they'll beat us to Leighton Baines as well. Finally, to add salt to the wounds of Goodison, they'll buy Jagielka IF Sheffield United stay in the Premiership. Though, if they don't, he comes to us.

Everton probably won't sign Jagielka, as Sheffield United look like they'll be staying up. A new loan deal for Fernandes looks increasingly likely with a view to a permanent move for £10 million. IF Fernandes impresses next season, his value will have gone upto around £20 million, so it's a good bit of business. Can't really identify any other likely EFC transfers.

Liverpool won't sign Torres. No way is Benitez stupid enough to pay £25 for him. Instead, they get another Atletico striker, namely Sergio Aguero in a deal worth £9 million plus Garcia.

I'd also add that Arsenal may put in a bid for Saviola, as he's a free agent (isn't he? ) but this is purely Champ Man speculation, as they need a striker and don't have a lot of money.

Finally, place £20 on Sunderland to get into UEFA Cup.

'Just back from summer break in Madrid, local talk is all about Torres, he is not going to LFC as expected but to United for 18 million, David Gill has been spotted in the city of late, also a strong possibility of Robinho arriving at Old Trafford, LFC to settle for our cast–off Diego Forlan'.

It seems the legendary Evertonian bitterness has travelled down the M62. It would be great if we do get Torres and signs are also good regarding the situation with wingers, as Rafa is chasing players of the calibur of Simao, Robiniho, Quaresma and Mancini (although the initial offer for him has been rejected). Looks like the despresives who said that Rafa was leaving and that the Americans wouldn't open their chequebooks could be eating their words sooner rather than later.

–Carra23–

I was in Sheffield to do a 10k run and Phil Jagielka was running along next to me. He said he wants to leave Sheffield United and he is close to a deal with Everton. He says that West Ham are interested but he would prefer a move to Everton.

Newcastle have beaten West Ham to the signature of Dutch defender Drenthe. Trust me, £3 million deal with 35K a week wages.

The Freddy Eastwood saga will be over next week, when Watford agree to sign him for around £1.5 million. This dissapointment for WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS will be followed up by Billy Sharp moving to Norwich. Kyle Lafferty has also wished to stay at Burnley. Wolves will now switch their attention to Heracles Almelo goal machine Ramos the Silva Everton. The Brazilian striker has been seen in Wolverhampton with Wolves reprersentetives. 100% true.

There have been alot of pointless rumours posted on this site lately. Now I am not a mate of Roy Keanes dog walker, or sir Alex Fergusons housekeeper, but I do have some real transfers that I beleive will happen.

1, Smithy will move to Sunderland for 5–6 mil

2, Berbatov will not be able to resist champs league football at Mufc. 20 mil plus Brown and Silvestre

3, Heinz to Real Madrid 6 million, Baines to replace at 6 million from Wigan

4, Bardsley to Everton or Villa for 2 mil

5, Richardson to Sheffield United for 3 mil

6, O'Shea and Fletcher to sign new contracts as they were instrumental in last years Premiership win

Man United till I die

I am close friends with Everton groundsman and he has informed me that Moyes is splashing out a £9 million swoop for both Leighton Baines and Paul Scharner this is 100% true

TomMcMahon remember the name

Sunderland to launch a £7.5 million take it or leave it deal to Newcastle for nicy Butt and Damian Duff

wich will see Tobiass Hysenn leaving to go back to Sweden and also expect a few unknown players to join both Newcastle and Sunderland

I live in a posh area near Chester in the northwest. on the gated community where I live I saw Fernando Torres looking at a house today. I can only imagine that this means a move to the northwest is a done deal. pretty sure I saw Liverpool emblems on clip boards held by the people accompanying him on his viewing.

Sorry to dissapoint all you bubble blower who insist they saw Arteta in essex you may want to check the Everton website where a competition is taking place to meet Arteta in the center circle on the opening day of the season. Maybe you can post some real rumours about all you're players jumping ship when you get points rightfully deducted from you and you end up in the championship where you belong.

My mate works at the walkers stadium in maintenance and has seen Lee Bowyer twice in the last 3 days leaving the reception area of the ground.

ARSENAL NEWS. Arsenal will look to go English this summer and bring in OWEN (12 million), Reo–Coker (8.5 million) and Davis (7 million). Although if the availability of Torres becomes an option AW will look to snap him up. T Henry isn't going as he's wife and young child are settled plus he has seen Vieira now move twice since leaving and Pires also having a rough time as well as previous leavers Petit and Overmars to name but a few Gunners shouldn't worry with a spine of Gallas–Fabregas–Henry there isn't much better. AW is only interested in letting Freddie go as his wages are high and a new contract will not be offered. NO ONE will leave unless silly money is offered.
