Southampton are still scouting the three young Italians.
But added to that list they have been scouting three old boys. Rumours have it - it's Martin Craine, Andrew Surman and Dexter Blackstock.
They also seem to be gearing up to make further bids on Gary Hooper and Jay Rodriguez.
There is also a Unnamed CB they are scouting as well.
This is all being prepared in readiness for making it into the Premier League.(10)(12)Who is the 3 young italiansWhilst the Hooper interest can be anticipated I believe the other interests are very wide of the mark.
I would have thought recent history would have shown that signings by Saints will be kept behind closed doors until the deals are done, so most rumours will be pure speculation.
Suggest we just trust the management to land the right type of players-they have been pretty successful so far, but most of the signings have been a complete surprise to the fans (apart from Sharpe who was expected to sign for all clubs in the Championship before the close of the window) and I expect it will stay that way.Hoopers going no where so forget that 1...he will be playing champions league footy next season so fighting relagationIn your dreams surman is happy were he is. As to the others, i think most are untrue. Blackstock is no where near what we need, if we get another ST, which seems unlikely, it would be someone that is sitting around lower prem, or a young gun. CB is likely, as is some young players. Would be interested to hear who they were? Is this coming from the same source that said Mattia Destro would come to England? (I wish lol )Further to the original statement a rumour has started that if Saints make it back to the Premier League, they will make two audacious key signings before the start of next season. the players involved are former Saints players. Watch this space.Heard this too,Paine and Channon maybe?Just to throw in a few observations, Southampton did at one time have to sell stars of the future because of their finacial situation. That's all changed now and some of those stars would jump at the opertunity to return to the club that started them of in their careers. So the players named list above isn't that unbelievable. He's better off where he is at Brentford as they wont be going anywhere whereas we are on the rise with Paolo at the helm.Not wanted..not needed. We are a club on the up, He does not have the passion or the desire to survive at Swindon under the superb guidance of PDC. The players coming in now are ones that will help the club challenge for promotion from Division One next season i.e Holmes and Cleverley are both quality players who are out of contract in the Summer, PDC will see how they perform until the end of the season then take them on free's for the new campaign if they show the quality we know they possess. People like Jon Douglas can stay at Brentford thank you very much!!

Reading have contacted free agent Jacob Mellis after his sacking by Chelsea about a move to the Berkshire club. Something is happening at Wolves. I am hearing big rumours that Morgan is on the verge of bringing in a foreign manager, if not now then at the end of the season, regardless of what division we are in. Steve Bruce has turned down the offer of a 12 month rolling contract to become the new manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Steve Morgan wanted him to take charge as from today (Tues) but Bruce feels the club have become a laughing stock and are guarenteed relegation. I believe that Morgan now feels that he has no chouce but to stick with Terry Connor for the remainder of the season. Morgan was talked into the appointment of Conner by CEO Jez Moxey but now realises the club have made a massive error. I am also lead to believe that there is absolutely no truth in the rumour circulating around Wolverhampton that Morgan is looking to get rid of Jez Moxey and then reappoint Mick McCarthy in the summer. It was Morgans decision to part compant with MM and that Moxey was against the idea.(16)(6)
