Aberdeen complete the loan signing of 21 year old reading cb, Michael Hector on a 6 month deal

NE Gooner

Yes this is old news, he was expecting to play in a friendly for them friday evening.

He did play in a friendly, an was man of the match.

27 Jul 2013 18:47:29
Peterboroughtoday. co. uk states Darren Ferguson of Posh was at the Luton vs Dagenham match, and posh are known to be looking for strikers.

I speculated it may have been Andre Gray in the comments and the posh post youth match friendly article stated this was the player of interest (as to why DF was at this other game), though I don't know if this has been explicitly stated or a bit of journalistic guessing.

27 Jul 2013 18:44:57
Pascal Chimbonda was in Tranmeres squad playing Wrexham today.

Surely at 34 he's way too young for Tranmere?

Sometimes age has nothing to do with it
as long as the players fit and up for it I for one would find a spot for Ryan Giggs in any Tranmere team, before the rumours take off Giggs has not been seen at Prenton Park.

Only a matter of time b4 preston start creepin round him!

Not with the club anymore

27 Jul 2013 18:07:34
Marlon Pack to sign for Bournemouth.

He's going to be signing a 3 year contract with bristol city on monday after his impressive performance against Bournemouth

This is rubbish, he's a league 2 standard player.

If you think he's a League 2 standard player you must know very little about him. I've watched him a number of times now, and he's far far too good for League 2. League 1/Championship player in the making. Controls every game he plays in. And this is coming from an Oxford fan, no bias!

27 Jul 2013 17:15:53
Shrewsbury to sign striker devante cole on loan from manchester city after todays game between the two sides to see how he did. Devante, the son of andy cole, will sign a season long loan

What was he like?

Didn't stand out at all, tbh.

We need an experienced forward to lead the line, not another untried youngster

Wem Shrew

Saw him two years ago. Looked a cracking player

He looked good a few years ago in the England youth set up. Big tall striker to my memory.

27 Jul 2013 17:07:08
Norwich looking at Florian Thauvin from Lille. He's a under 20 France player and has scored 10 goals from midfield this season.

Half the league are looking at him including some of the top six.

No harm in looking is there xx

Norwich to make a big name signing before trip to Braga

27 Jul 2013 16:32:05
Southampton are interested in AIK Stockholm striker Kennedy Igboananike.
The 24 year old Nigerian is rated at £500,000 and has been recommended by Saints scout Tord Grip.

Personally, I can't see why Saints would go for such a player! Does not provide Premier League standard partner for Lambert.

The cost--and therefore the risk--seems pretty low. Might come good and at least add some useful depth. On the whole, a deal like this doesn't seem to have to much of a downside. Not saying it will happen, just not sure why it should be dismissed outright.

You guys remember an unknown players called Michu?. well look at him now, not heard of and bought for a small sum but instantly became one of the bets players in the prem. don't judge unless you've seen him play

Tord Grip is not Southamptons chief scout

Tord grp is not even a scout for Southampton

We've got better players than him we're trying to get rid of, don't want another Forecast or Forte on a payroll, then just keep paying them for nothing because they're sub-standard.

A no go, West Ham tried to sign him. He has been refused a work permit twice.

Ive seen this online too, so i'm not disputing this. It does say recomended by Tord Grip

Since when is he a saints scout?

To say michu was unknown is ridiculous, a spanish midfielder who scored 15 goals in la liga Is hardly as obscure as a Nigerian playing in Sweden.

28 Jul 2013 14:43:22
Michu was not an unknown player. anyone who follows spanish football was well aware of him.

You don't score 15 goals in La Liga and go unnoticed.

Think your on about zapata who has seen a work permit turned down for west ham!

Tord Grip is carrying out sone freelance 'scout' work. Wouldn't trust his recommendations though!

Yeah, if your a fanatic and follow Spanish football you might just have heard of him (Michu) but I take it most people didn't till he came to the prem. he was overshadowed by some of the best midfielders in Spain hence why he was kinda unknown.

27 Jul 2013 19:02:11
Rumours In French media are sayin capoue Is signing for Cardiff he's also been left out of toulouses game 2 night c'mon Malky boy keep em coming! Bluuuuebird

27 Jul 2013 17:26:55
Swindon have held talks with Paul groves - tv

Swindon would do very well to get him

Quality manager brilliant coach doubt he would want to drop down a div

Paul Groves has not been approached by Swindon, the job is Tisdales to take, if he turns Swindon down then it will go to Hartley, Groves has not been in the frame at all this is a rubbish rumour from Boremuff fans.

27 Jul 2013 17:23:34
Blackpool FC are trying to get Jay Spearing, Keith Andrews and Steven Hunt.

28 Jul 2013 03:33:14
Too expensive _ get many one in and build from there

Hunt is possible

Not really mate. There on free or cheap. Why do you think we are trying to buy him?

Hunt deal is getting pretty close

27 Jul 2013 18:02:09
Sheffield United looking to sign Rory McArdle of Bradford

Hes under contract and going no where

Not going to happen sorry.

Good got enough defenders

29 Jul 2013 09:35:04
Haha Why would we want someone like him to play in the reserves at United?

29 Jul 2013 11:11:28
He looked ok for Bradford, but we really don't need another defender, only position that's light is the striker department,

29 Jul 2013 11:38:01
Bradford City sign Rafael De Vitta on a one-year deal

As of today (Tues) at 11. 45, the message from VP is that Raffa still hasn't signed and it's unlikely that he will given the availability of PP and any Bradford directors. The remaining problems with the contract have yet to be resolved. And no, I'm not privy to what they are

De vitta signed 1 year deal confirmed

De Vita has signed a one year contract, confirmed in bradford paper

Signed today done deal!

27 Jul 2013 17:45:09
Huddersfield Town will sign Valencia B striker Christian Lopez after another impressive performance against Oldham. They will also sign an unnamed centre back after selling Kallum Higginbotham and loaning out Murray Wallace.

Good, that Cristian Lopez is looking too good to turn down

Hope this is true

28 Jul 2013 12:57:27
Going to sit on the fence a little here. I understand the frustration. I think some of us are disappointed with the lack of big name signings or indeed recruitment of the best players in league 1. There is a concern that we are not as strong as last year! On the other hand we do need to trust Dean and Mark R as we have time yet in this window! Keep the faith.

The guy is class - get him signed up Deano before it's too late!

He looks a good player watched him twice now. But could we have a new midfield please, this is a big problem!!!

There appears to be great faith within the club that we will be able to complete loan signing of Nick Powell on mufc return from Asia pre-season. When Keith southern fit again should provide us with improved midfield but with lack of depth in case of inevitable season injuries. Lopez - yes please looks promising for now & future!

Anyone hearing the Jonathan Hogg rumour? Apparently signed from Watford, 3 yr deal? Pretty disappointing if true, nowt special.

So a man who has play approx 80 games in the last two seasons for Watford and highly rated by their fans is disappointing. ? Wow.

How can you be disappointed with this signing, you obviously haven't seen mr hogg play have you? he could defo turn out to be a key player for town this season

"nowt special"? who are you? Get real, he's a proven young talent at Championship level and at only 24 he's right up Robins profile to further his career and progress Town forward. We're not Chelsea or Arsenal so wise up!

27 Jul 2013 17:45:00
Rumours resurfacing about Papadopoulos to Liverpool for £12 million. Any truth?

Also, if Suarez goes to Madrid, which players will they potentially attempt to swap?

Only fringe first team players really. Maybe callejon, kaka, khedira, diarra. {Ed027's Note - Callejon joined Napoli this summer. Diarra joined Anzhi last summer. Kaka is like to go back to Brazil, Khedira will not be joining Liverpool

Doubt it. Emnes was excellent today. ebanks blake joining but not billy sharp

27 Jul 2013 17:31:19
Adgestein from Brighton joined on loan. Good young forward, needs game time!

Joined who? For the record he has been released by Brighton so he can't be loaned. He might join a club on trial or even on a short term contract although he will be looking for a longer one.

Signed for Inverness Caley Thistle on a six month contract. Source club website.

He's just been released by Brighton so how can he go out on loan and who has he gone on loan to?

He's joined Inverness on a six month deal. simples

Terrhy Butcher has confirmed that Inverness have signed Agdestein on a 6 month contract following his release from Brighton.

27 Jul 2013 17:04:20
Lee Croft was at Spotland today when I was working there for the Preston match

I can 100% guarantee he will not sign for rochdale, we have so many attacking players it is untrue.

27 Jul 2013 16:58:10
Hearing celtic have had a 2. 25million bid accepted for James Mclean from sunderland. Any truth in this?

27 Jul 2013 10:29:57
Ed anyrthing on the Reading front. all gone quiet {Ed029's Note - Nothing new. Could be that we can't move now until Pog is off the books. Sooner the better! Striker is a priority though.

27 Jul 2013 15:47:10
Celtic have 2. 25mill bid accepted by Sunderland for James McClean

27 Jul 2013 15:12:31
Yeovil Town have taken former Port Vale player Ryan Burge on trial, on subs bench vs Plymouth

DevonGreen

27 Jul 2013 15:03:05
Watford are interested in taking Valencia striker Paco Alcacer on loan.

Seems like he has been a decent striker at youth level. Doubt this rumour though, given that Gianluca Nani, our director of football, was reportedly telling people at the Watford Open Day today that we are only signing Belkalem, a third choice keeper and another midfielder.

27 Jul 2013 14:55:35
Bongani Khumalo is playing for the rovers today against bradford.

27 Jul 2013 14:36:30
Hull to bid 2. 5 Million for Sebastian Larsson

And where would he fit in with our 3-5-2 formation. nowhere

27 Jul 2013 15:06:12
Said in paper motherwell have signed Anier on 6 month loan deal but hasn't been announced yet.

27 Jul 2013 14:19:24
Augustine from Swansea has signed for Brighton provides he passes a medical and is set to be with the squad next week.

Is Kemy Augustien the holding midfield player needed so BHA can sell Bridcutt? Or is he just a replacement for Hammond who just wasn't good enough last year.

He was a replacement for Hammond, Bridcutt is a player we don't want to sell.

Is this the same Dean Hammond who helped us reach our highest position for 30 years and helped Southampton gain promotion the season before

He's probally going to replace both Bridcutt and Hammond because that's the sort of thing Brighton do

Replacement for hamming he's mor attacking than bridcutt

Kemy is a good player but fighting for a place with an outstanding Swans midfield. Best of luck Kemy.

28 Jul 2013 17:16:29
One of the best cdm swansea had he's a great signing for brighton

Kemy is an amazing player. Probably has more talent than any other swans player. Just too lazy for laudrup is liking. Good luck man

27 Jul 2013 13:35:37
Sheffield Wednesday keen on taking Aston Villa's Jordan Bowery on a season long loan

He is a good player would be a good loan signing for Wednesday, chessie fan

27 Jul 2013 13:35:20
Mark little signing to blues called off due to wages demands. Blues can't afford any more. Mills all and Middlesbrough interested.

No Boro won't be interested they have two right backs and Frazer Richardson is training with them

27 Jul 2013 13:35:14
Any news on Reading FC signing a striker as of yet? (Believable ones anyway?)

Looks like we're not going to sign anyone anytime soon, at least until after Pog's gone. Looks uninterested at the game which means he's probably on his way out. Austin and Sharp are both on our radar but can't see us signing either of them.

Lots of possible signing but never come through. typical reading in transfer window

{Ed029's Note - The club has done well with it's three signings, plus key contract renewals for Pearce, Kebe and Robson-Kanu. One or two may need to move on to free up funds for a striker. We're not done yet.

No news, just guesswork. Charlie Austin's name keeps surfacing but didn't he fail a medical somewhere recently?
To be honest, we had a decent championship quality striker in Noel Hunt but he was allowed to leave. Madness!

I was at the game today and its not rocket science we need a striker badly if we have any ambition of getting out this league we need to spend on a forward lots of good build up play but no end product

Vitesse forward Mike Havenaar has been linked recently. 6'4" Japanese international, played second to Bony, but has a powerful header and good footwork. Would be a fantastic buy

Im a reading fan of 30 years n can honestly say noel hunt was seriously over-rated. Any reading fan with some actual knowledge can see that. Someone dare prove me wrong with his stats. that's right you can't because his scoring record is appauling, some personic rfc fans seriously need to let go of the players that simply ain't good enough. We need top quality goal scorers not over payed players that can jump high n run round like headless chickens.

Any supporter with an ounce of a footballing brain will know that stats don't always prove how effective a player is. Noel was a very good squad player. Granted since his injury a few years ago never looked the same but feel you are slightly harsh on the boy.

27 Jul 2013 13:29:52
Young arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, who showed impressive form in the clubs recent pre-season tour, is set to join Rotherham on a season long loan

27 Jul 2013 13:25:19
Derby to sign Leon Barnett from Norwich on a 2 year deal with option of a third.

Then Adam Smith on loan from Tottenham, 6 month or season long I do not know.

Will also try for Dawson (WBA)

The adam smith rumours are true. Over heard the announcer at Pride Park speaking to the derby coaching staff he mention we are looking at a player from tottenham reserves played for Leeds and Millwall last season on loan

Was Adam Smith taken off injuried today? Any Spurs fan know? How good is he?

Sorry lots of questions and no answers. just like supporting the Rams.

It will be a season long loan

Adam Smith , is the real deal , had fantastic loan spell with Millwall last season.

We will sign Jordan Spence or smith but can't see Barnett signing clough favours his blue eyed boy Buxton to much

Clough said he is in no hurry to get a centre half in. Reading between the lines it would sound like another loan.

It think Steve Nicholson has said we are not in for Leon Barnett as well.

27 Jul 2013 12:44:05
Leon Barnett is said to be in talks with Derby manager Nigel Clough about a move to Pride Park.

27 Jul 2013 12:42:36
If Charlie Austin is sold, Burnley manager Sean Dyche will look to bring in Andy Keogh from Millwall. (Source close to the club)

God I hope this isn't true

Can forest afford this? really? they have just spent 1 million on mackie. no disrespect but i'd say that is their limit

also charlie won't go unless its to the prem. why would he

Keogh is very much in SL plans.

Keogh playing today against Real Vallecano. Millwall win 1-0 with 3 of its new signings on the bench. Barnett is not good enough for Millwall. For Posh he is perfect, he's rubbish

All over forest site, Austin deal agreed, been seen at city ground, mates with cox and mackie from Swindon days, makes sense

Forest are wiiling to break their transfer record on somebody, according
to Jim Price which is £3.5 million, so it could be Austin.

They have billionaire owners talk is taking a player in return possibly Miller

1 million on mackie, 2 million on the winger from Greece. I think they can more than afford it

When does the FIFA Rule about you have to spend money you earn come in to force? I'm sure that forest don't turn over the amount if money there slinging about

Forest get big gate recipts, are in the proess of signing a media deal and about to anounce new big sponorship FFP can be managed

27 Jul 2013 12:55:46
Notts Forest will sign Charlie Austin on monday for around 3. 5M with Austin saying his goodbyes today with Burnleys game with Rotterdam FC

I'm sure if a deal is basically made then forest would not want Austin playing today I case he got injured. He is staying with the clarets for the season.

I was hoping Nottingham forest would sign him. not heard of this Notts forest, they any good?

He'll be a red by monday :)

27 Jul 2013 18:47:17
Austin will be a red by monday COYR

As a forest fan I'd say we might have wanted him playing today because we played our last pre season game yesterday and if Austin is to sign then burnleys game today could have been to ensure he is match fit for hudds game next week:) you reds!

This is notts forest name

Austin is staying at Burnley

Notts County or Nottingham Forest, get it right please

Any football fan thinking there is a team called Notts Forest needs a wake up call.

27 Jul 2013 11:57:58
Arsenal Defender Daniel Boateng is set to join Colchester United on a season long loan

With 4 centre backs already in the club the addition of a 5th one is most unlikely. This is particularly so when there are other positions without adequate cover.

27 Jul 2013 11:53:39
Burnley play Sparta Rotterdam today, and will field A Trialist at some stage. from Barcelona B team.

Reports are suggesting its Dani Nieto, a left winger.

The whole team was from barcelona they were fantastic today great performance

27 Jul 2013 11:52:56
Crystal Palace are showing interest in former Bolton striker Johan Elmander.

More fool Palace, he's hopeless!

I hope not as someone else just said he is useless, I will ad effing to that, amen.

28 Jul 2013 08:18:32
Surely palace could offer an out of contract player the equivalent of a transfer fee when he signs on then pay a wage within the clubs structure. Let's hope we can at least loan a couple of big names

After strong palace side got defeated at crawly yesterday we need signings that are going to score goals with young legs and prem experience jury still out for me on holloway where is the confident free flowing footie we played before his arrival? Without it we will find this season very difficult he just got it right end of last season but not convinced he can turn his own mess around we need to invest in good players anton is NOT the answer!

"where is the confident free flowing footie we played before his arrival?"

Don't make me laugh. Do you really think we would have got promotion with Freedman & his sit back & defend style of play? The season before we one 1 game in like 27. Holloway is the man to take us forward. Forget about Greedman.

27 Jul 2013 11:52:03
hull closing in on a season long loan of lee cattermole.

Hull are only looking to buy. Not loan and Di Canio wants rid of him, 2mil reported

Hope so, he's garbage. can't pass more than 10 yards, doesn't score goals, his 1st tackle is a yellow card n his second is a red.

27 Jul 2013 11:51:32
Southend United are looking to secure season-long loans for Jonathan Forte and Aaron Martin, both of Southampton

Please Southend take Forte, useless,
Aaron Martin will do you proud if you get him.

Both good quality players who clearly aren't wanted having been left behind from Southampton's tour. Could be very good signings for Southend.

27 Jul 2013 11:43:23
Newcastle have made an increased offer of £6.9million for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis. while the Magpies are also keen to bring in Loic Remy from QPR on a season-long loan deal.

On loan no chance 9million for remy

Remy on loan would be a good deal for both clubs! We pay what we offered in jan qpr pay rest? Remy plays in epl for a season? Qpr don't get promoted next season? And we offer to buy him outright and pay him what he's worth!

Newcastle have given up on Gomis and have focused their attention on signing Rémy on a permanent not loan basis.

Harry said he would only sell or keep him not loan him

27 Jul 2013 11:14:27
Atletico Madrid look set to beat Cardiff to the signing of Etienne Capoue as the French midfielder wants to prove himself in Europe in order to get into the France 2014 World Cup squad.

They haven't even had a bid accepted so how is that the case?

They haven't even bidded

Its funny how they are set to beat Cardiff to him when they haven't had a bid accepted and Cardiff have

Reports in France say signed for Cardiff

Etienne Cappoue has signed for cardiff.

27 Jul 2013 10:55:27
Torbjorn Agdestein has reportedly signed for afc Wimbledon. The 21 year old Norwegian striker left Brighton & Hove Albion by mutual consent because he spent most of the 3 years at Brighton on the bench. Agdestein could be Neal Ardley's long awaited number 9

I'm still hearing that he's coming back

Look a good player wish him well Brighton Fan

Not true! Yesterday he signed a 6 month deal with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Actually he's gone to inverness caledonian thistle

He's signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

He's defenately signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle

27 Jul 2013 10:45:37
Southampton trying to offload Sharp, Barnard, de ridder, lee and Martin and bring in Scott Sinclair from Man City and Matej Vydra from Udinese. Saints open to both loan and permanent options. Another ambitious target for Southampton is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Shalke.

I would suggest Huntelaar might be a tad overly ambitious.

So every player WBA are after??

All of that is made up but the players leaving are probably quite accurate guesses.

Lies, Saints don't buy players over 26.

Lies? 2 out of those 3 are under 26!

Well quite obviously I was referring to the 1 mentioned who is over 26? The other two are reasonable.

Borus was over 26

Boruc was also free, and goalkeepers are a bit different as they have longer careers generally

He was a free transfer of high quality, I'm just saying if Saints are spending money they don't tend to buy players over 26 because Cortese doesn't like to. Boruc is over 26 yes however he is class and free.

You know what they say you don't get anything for free, most likely boric will lose his cool and cost us, how manytime have you seen him catch the ball from a cross or corner. Don't rate him.

Hes not a long term answer in goal but he's a short term fix, and is better than davis or gazza. Personally I was annoyed we let Butland go to Stoke last year, but oh well i'm Cortese I trust he'll work it out

Everyone has their own option about saints players and management but just look what has been achieved in a few years, it's not been done all by luck.

Not that sure i'd even want vdra he's got potential but isn't concistent an sinclair is old news sparked up from papers huntelar is to much for as he's greedie were hopefull of getting damaio

All this talk of new players I doubt there will be many more signings the club have so many players they are still trying to offload. Wouldn't mind zaha on loan

27 Jul 2013 10:30:51
With Pogrebnyak set to depart, Reading will turn their attention to Nantes' Serbian target man Filip Djordjevic

27 Jul 2013 09:46:31
Stevenage manager graham westley is to speak to Manchester united over the possibility of getting striker Sam bryne on a season long loan deal, the striker impressed for the red devils in their 2-2 draw with the hertfordshire side

Unlikely to be true. I saw him in the friendly as well and he was excellent.

27 Jul 2013 09:50:48
Millwall have bid £500k + Andy Keogh for Peterborough striker Tyrone Barnett

Please no sl don't do it

Barnett not worth £500 let alone £500,000! Nor would Keogh want to drop down a level. Peterborough may have the best chairman having got palace to spend all that on Galye but this rumour is plain rubbish.

Not true, my brother plays for Millwall and he said that SL want Keogh and Morsion to be his main strikers!
clearly your just making up nonsense

Lets face it, if Keogh is struggling to have a place at Milwall then droping down a level is his only option.

He's not brought Mc. Donald in to have Morison and Keogh as his main strike force

Keogh isn't struggling for a place though is he, started every pre season game he's been available for

27 Jul 2013 09:48:59
No return for David Lopez. Rumours that the club have had a change of mind and will now be re-signing Lopez have been denied by Lorez and Brighton.

The only reason David Lopez came to Brighton was because no big clubs wanted him after being released by Athletic Bilbao. He's one of these players that uses a small club to get his career back on track. That's why he only stayed for a year.

27 Jul 2013 09:52:09
simon moore has signed for cardiff and i'm a bees fan, massive loss, but I heard we are looking at wes foderingham from swindon as a last minute deal as moore has been snapped up last min

Dream on, foderingham will not be joining any league 1 side, If he was to leave then it will be to a championship club, But Swindon have no desire to sell one of the best young keepers outside of the prem anytime soon.

Wes signed new deal last month he would cost you best part of 1 million.

Ha that's never going to happen. He will play in the premier league within a couple of years.

How is it 'last min' there is like another month to go in the transfer window

David Button potential replacement.

27 Jul 2013 16:10:14
last min as season starts next week

Moore done deal

Dream on Brentford you only take Swindon cast offs and not solid first team players.

Foders just signed a new contract and would cost more than the whole of your squad is worth.

Carrying on eating the carrots.

STFC league 2 beckons.

League 2 may beckon, but you are dreaming if you are thinking about the championship, one of us are going to be dissapointed this year sunshine, and I am expecting a relegation battle.

27 Jul 2013 09:03:33
Sam Allardyce reveals West ham have opened talks with Salomon Kalou

Same as always W. B. A do all the early work on new players, for some body else to step in and benefit. come on all on board and manager at W. B. A pull your socks up and do a deal.

Sam also speaking to QPR about Remy. Along with Kalou and Vydra trying to have as many irons in the fire as he can along with Odemwingie and once he finds out who wants what he'll make a move which is best financially and in football terms for the club. EVeryone calm down. We still have 3 weeks to go

27 Jul 2013 08:03:40
West Ham are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Matej Vydra

No you aren't he's just been named in the 25 man squad for Udinese's europa league qualifiers.

Looks like the albion have lost out again, come on albion spend some money and get us a team.

27 Jul 2013 07:41:06
Chesterfield to sign Ian Evatt today on terms of a very strict medical, very reliable sources.

The same player whose training at Blackburn and WHY would he move DOWN TO LEAGUE 2.

Cresswell who? I'd have evatt back at Cfc in a flash, awesome player and great bloke.

Great signing

Done deal, had medical this morning. Welcome back Evo

EVO is a Spireite Evo is a Spireite who ever says why would he move to L2 WATCH THIS SPACE

Evatt was at the Spireite - Sheffield Wednesday friendly this afternoon, and is due for a medical in the next 24 hours. SpireiteMac

Leam Richardson on Ian Evatt rumours: "We have spoken to Ian and he's shown a great desire to join the club. "

Word from the club (officially) is that Ian Evatt as a great desire to join the club and will have medical tomorrow

CFC have confirmed both themselves and Evatt are very interested in a move

Evatt had medical at Burton today and passed with flying colours. Does not fancy sitting on bench a Blackburn

The Evo deal is done and all down to Dave Allen who called him personally and got him to come down for a meeting. 3 year deal and captain subject to a medical and a look at the knee I guess. The CFC board quote of 4k a week and relocation is absolute rubbish. We won't pay anyone over 2. 5k and that's 100%

If this happens what a FANTASTIC signing, Evo was a class player when he was here before. We will go up with him in the side he is a rock in defense.

I don't know where you claim to state the Evo deal is done, It is not finalised until today, He was signed off on Saturday as fit but he has stated himself that he wants to go for the medical, If that is ok then there is an extremely good chance that pen is put to paper today.

Like I said its done and I knew it was done not guessing or simply making a throw away post. The club sent him to st George's Saturday night for a medical on Sunday ( seen the proof) which was all about his injury. Spoke to him Friday, Saturday and today. FACT!

Peterborough United will complete the following signings this week:

Paddy McCourt - Free
Scott Spencer - £150k.
Britt Assombalonga - Loan

Spencer had just signed a new contract at hyde

McCourt now in talks with Millwall as he wants to play at a higher level

Paddy McCourt said he wants to play Championship football so it is fairly unlikely that he will sign.

McCourt said he wanted to play for Posh a week ago, but then he did'nt get what he wanted in dosh, so now he wants Championship football.
It's all about the money i'm afraid lads, afterall, that's what they do for a living.

Clough talking to two Premiership clubs about bringing in a couple of players. Will either be permanent or loan depending on what the clubs are willing to do. Source Det interview with Clough.

27 Jul 2013 07:35:16
Peterborough United have made Paddy McCourt a revised offer which the club believe he will accept.

27 Jul 2013 07:31:45
Hyde striker Scott Spencer is on the verge of signing for L1 club Peterborough United.

Just signed a new contract at Hyde

Just signed a new contract with Hyde? He can't ever play in league 1 now as signing a contract makes you ineligible for a transfer. ridiculous

27 Jul 2013 01:58:25
Ex Leicester City midfielder Jorrin John to join Bristol Rovers on monthly rolling monthly contract for undisclosed fee.

He's a striker bud

27 Jul 2013 00:41:29
Bradford City are in talks with Neil Alexander.

This would be quality. Huge challanger for johnny mac.

I love the sound of this. Would bring real experience as he's played at a decent level most of his career. Hope he can show Mclaughlin how to save then react rather than just save and hold up play. But again this is a rumour website after all may have no truth what so ever.

I've heard this is actually true.

27 Jul 2013 01:50:48
Rotherham are in talks with Brentford but its not for Tubbs, it's for Wes Thomas. Played under Evans before and Evans has tried to sign him for Rotherham last season. He was unwilling to drop to L2 but now the millers are promoted and Bournemouth want to get rid of 2 strikers, a deal is likely.

In talks with Brentford about a Bournemouth player? Different approach

Can talk to Brentford all they want - but would be better talking to Bournemouth - if true ha can go for a fee.

Wes Thomas doesn't play for Brentford lmao.

27 Jul 2013 14:09:51
Tubbs has just signed for Rotherham on loan until Jan. On Cherries website

Matt Tubbs signs on Loan with Rotherham until January then Rotherham will make the signing permanent.

We still need a new striker. Any ideas of anyone coming in? Championship experience? Afcb

Terriers forced to wait for their big loan signing. With Moyes and Manchester United in Asia and Nick Powell yet to be seen by Moyes, Town will have to wait until United return. Town head a long queue for Powell who will go out on a full seasons loan. Other United kids playing in Asia are ahead of Powell in line for1st XI places.

I would welcome this lad with open arms, if he produces the form and quality he is capable of, then he will be a great loan signing and will prove a big asset to town.

I'm starting to lose my patience now with Dean Hoyle - start signing some players before all the good deals are gone!

Need to get our act together on the loan front. Vaughan injured after 19 minutes at Oldham, Stead injured so only Paterson left as a striker. Get Lopez signed now and push to get Powell before Saturday.

Losing patience with Dean Hoyle? Unbelievable! What does the guy need to do? The transfer window is still open for over a month yet, so along with Vaughan, Paterson, Hammill & Stead signing permanently, afew season loans will no doubt follow. You seem to have a very short memory or just impossible to please!

I think people get confused, just becauce vaughan/hammill were with us last season, they were not town players. Give deano a break, or can you think of another millionaire that would do a better job?.

Lol losing patience with Dean Hoyle, absolutely embarrassing comment. Go and have a look at the squad before he took over.

Well said

I can Ken Davy. Promotion 1st season. Steadied the ship in his 2 nd Season. Play offs in his 3rd season. P's take a look at the Super League table and you'll see Huddersfield run by Ken Davy. And that was a club in total ruin when he took it over. As was Town when he bailed us out. We'd have been FC Town of Huddersfield now playing in the Northern Premier. P's don't mention the shares it's boring. When Dean Hoyle can match that he will have done something. All he as done is waste a fortune on players and manager's to get us promotion from the 1st div and keep us up by the skin of our teeth last season. Doesn't sound too good now when the facts are wrote down. Don't mention Canalside it's only a asset for when he sells up.

Unbeleivable sum town fans, its because of DH were we r today
, get a grip, top 10 finish this season, then let's kick on the season after aim for play offs etc, one step at a time, we r not a big club, well not as big as some championship clubs, Dean is trying to get the club runing itself, without any debt, we've been there before down and out with Mr Rubery, don't want to go back, also buying big name players doesn't mean succsess, 5 years we'll be a top 6 side regular, but let's walk first. and establish our selfs in the championship.

Deano is a wonderful guy, and he has done a brilliant job for the Terriers since he took over, but he spends too much money on Canalside and charity events.

Who is the author of the Ken Davey "love in"? Yes he stepped to help save the club but boy are we paying for it. He ring fenced the stadium shares thus starving the football club of income and assets, signed the worst manager EVER in Satan, sorry Stan the man Turnip and invested next to nothing in the playing side of the club. He did what he did as he is a rugby man through and through and had the football club folded then the stadium would have been a millstone he couldn't have kept running. Dean Hoyle is different class and deserves a fair roll of the dice from Davey on the stadium.

The only difference between Dean and every other Chairmen is one thing only he's a fan. As well as chairmen. ps. where are we?

I actually like him myself but he hasn't done anything.

PS we won't finish in the top 10 another relegation battle, same defence that let 73 league goals in last season. Get real

Ken DAVY lined his pockets for the Giants, nothing for the Football Club. why do think he has hung on the shares for as long as he can. wish they were still at fartown, until we gain a share of our shares I will not buy a pint or anything at the ground, sod the rugby club

Fact ken Davey stopped us from going into administration fact when that parasite Pearson wanted full control of our club to run as a money maker for him Davey withstood the pressure of all those persons that organised protests wanting Davey to sell to him fact he had already agreed to sell to dean Hoyle who is the right man so yes if he makes a few quid from the stadium good look to him I for one enjoy my half time pint and pie

Charlton are going to field a secret trialist in their pre-season game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle tomorrow.

27 Jul 2013 09:36:13
Not much of a secret if he's playing

Not secret its Simon Church {Ed029's Note - Indeed it is. Nice lad, hard worker, reads the game well but never in a million years is he a striker. Would be better suited in the hole. Hope it goes well for him though.

Simon church

Not on the squad list just announced! Get your facts right!

Well they haven't. {Ed029's Note - He's there on trial, you'd expect they'd want to play him... If not then he's either not fit enough yet or they've seen enough.

He's not playing right now against Inverness? I know he's the trialist but he's not on the bench or starting XI {Ed029's Note - He's definitely there on trial.

Didnt even play?

Was at the game no new striker we played only one at front for most of the game. Joe Pigott came on but it was too late to change the game. He will be top striker one day soon.

Well there was no trialist playing and neither was Simon church

Didn't happen! It was a very boring game, we offered no attacking threat and if that's how we are going to play, I'm worried!

It was a well kept secret because I didn't see him!

Yeah I know he's the one on trial, but I don't know why he didn't get included today.

Cant say piggot will be a top striker proven nothing, scored a hat trick against welling and that's the highlight of his career

Agreed, currently Piggot is only at the start of his career but good to have some young strikers. I think he looked a little bit slow on Saturday and certainly wasn't too sharp. Saying that he still looked more aware than Stevens, should have sold him and got Bailey back. Milwall have got a good buy there.

While Church is on trial to, he's not the secret I was referring to. It was actually Adam McGurk, formerly of Tranmere Rovers. (I am the original poster).

28 Jul 2013 22:47:03
Both McGurk and Church didn't play against Inverness, but they both played for CAFC XI on Sunday against Ebbsfleet utd

Good rumour mate, we all thought it was church

Eds do you know of any new transfer news regarding Saints? an how many more signings can we expect or none? {Ed001's Note - St Mirren? St Johnstone? Which Saints are you asking about?}

Southampton, my bad! {Ed001's Note - just checking. Only thing I have heard is you have held talk with Lisbon, I believe he meant with Sporting, but he didn't know who was the target. With the huge financial issues in the league there, resulting in the players' union having to step in and pay players who had not been paid in months, I am surprised more clubs aren't exploring that option.}

Southampton fc? Cortese recently said we have signed 2 of our main 3 targets.

Thank you that's brilliant! Could we expect Dier? Him and Ward-Prowse got on exceptionally well at the Under-20's World Cup or do you expect it to be a bigger player? {Ed001's Note - I don't know who it is, Dier would make sense though, I haven't had a chance to ask any more questions yet to find out who it is.}

Ian Evertt rumoured to be at the proact today make of that what you will

26 Jul 2013 23:11:32
Ipswich to sign Alan lee on a one year contract

Why don't they sign Marcus Stewart while there at it absolute nonsense oh and great to see on sky last night the 2000 play off final made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up we need those days back

Is not absolute rubbish mm is giving it serious thought, lee is youth coach so why not nothing to lose

Hibs expected to swoop for St Mirren defender Marc McAusland

26 Jul 2013 21:49:09
Celtic are in talks with Icelandic international and SC heerenveen Alfred Finnabogason who scored 24 goals in 31 appearances in the Dutch league last season. Fee to be around 4.5 million with add ons he has also lived in scotland before to that's a wee positive lol.

Would LOVE it if this is true!

Same ^^

Doncaster set to sigh sharp and given on loan

27 Jul 2013 18:10:15
OMG Maxted is shocking hope he's not going to be in goal for us this season, we will lose every game, just watched him against Bradford too hesitant we need a decent couple of keepers, we need to off load him not even good enough for youth team.

I bet your a proper epic first team keeper are you? Going on about him bein bad, your probably a 10 year old who thinks it's all as easy as fm, stupid comments from our fans are embarrassing it's shameful - {Ed027's Note -

28 Jul 2013 08:50:10
its all going down now for you donny fans dickov will take you down and sharp won't come back if is ambitious to win something in is career he will look for a big club from mike the red army of barnsley

Like to know what game you was watching. made a great stop in the 2nd half and the goal wasnt his fault. just bad luck. otherwise had very little to do

Nice to see encouraging comments for a young. Lad finding his feet in football world. Classy

Can you truthfully say he's good enough for first team championship football? mmmm that's what I thought care a lot about my club and worried we havnt signed any decent keepers, don't want to go staight back down! Maxted didn't have a great deal to do but looked dodgy saw him last season in a few friendlys and was exactly the same division 2 material at best. Hope heproves mewrong but carnt see it, hurry up and ign a decen keeper with experience.

People constantly being critical of players and the club are starting to annoy me. I am a life long supporter GET BEHIND THE CLUB

Nobody can say he's a first team keeper because he hasn't had any first team games! Dear me do you really think the board are going to let us start the season with no first team keeper?

He doesn't have to be a top class keeper to have an opinion. Maxy isn't good enough for the championship. Typical donny fan shooting down another just for having a view on their club! Do you think he is?

Maybe he was shaky, but David de gea was shaky so your point is invalid p. s go on ed lol!

Here here, went to the bradford game and other than the unfortunate bradford goal and being slow off line once he did nothing wrong! Made a cracking save with his legs when nahki wells was clean through and score was 1-1. Leave off maxted. Was also sat behind 1 little fat Alan Carr look a like that slagged Bennett off from start to finish when he came on. Get behind the rovers and let's see what we can do this year! Rtid

28 Jul 2013 16:14:24
What a big club like barnsley..

28 Jul 2013 23:54:46
andy keogh for rovers over heard coppinger saturday at bradford he wants to move back to yorkshire

For goodness sake give the lad (maxstead) a break. We all start somewhere and gain experience. Maybe the doubters should put themselves forward. I must admit it is a bit worrying. So close to the start of the season and only 1 keeper on the books.

Maxted has got to start somewhere, for all us rovers fans know, we could have a future star waiting to get his opportunity, it's about time the fans got behind the club and it's players!

Not looking good for rovers ATM, still no goalkeeper, players still to sign contracts, fans want to see signings. There's 5 days to go and still a long way to go in my eyes.

Maxted pulled off a good save second half against Bradford and got unlucky with the goal he just doesn't have the experience but everyone's got to start somewhere

Absolutely maxy needs a chance to prove just don't want it him being our number 1 do you?

Middlesbrough set to capture ambitious double signing from Wolves of Kevin Doyle and Dave Edwards. This will be financed by Jason Steele's departure to Liverpool.

Good move for Steele and England!. A highly promising goalkeeper spends his career playing five games a season behind a foreign import!

Unfortunate move for england I guess but they'd rather have butland anyway

good move for the boro

Why would Liverpool sign Jason Steele?

The rumours on here from some Boro fans are just pie in the sky!

Steele would not leave either when he is number one choice and plays week in / week out. He wouldn't get a game at Liverpool.

Kevin Doyle would be a great signing. can't see it happening, think he is off to Celtic.

Steele is better than butland he's best keeper in the championship by far, another superb Keeper Hartlepool Scott flinders

I think Doyles wages would be a stumbling block on a move to Boro

So funny Jason Steele won't leave middlesbrough Mowbray rates him too highly he would prob only let him go for 8m+ Jason Steele is an important first team player and 1 of the best we have

Mowbray Said Steele Wanst Leaving

If Steele is going to Liverpool, he can look forward to the same career as Turnbull. no games and quickly forgotten. am I missing something, just don't think he is that good.

If steel leaves Scott flinders will go to boro as a pools fan I don't want to see him leave but he is to good for league 2 he deserves to play in the championship

Dont believe one word of this mowbray can't sign anyone as for steele over rated sell him

End up like brad jones if he went to liverpool

No chance we will get him

You don't end up like brad Jones and Ross Turnbull if you've got talent you break thru like Joe hart! Lots of players have come from championship bale, wallcott, belamy, lescott list goes on if you've got the talent you'll be a star.

I heard that Flinders was a target for a number of clubs, including boro, as backup

26 Jul 2013 22:16:37
Rotherham in talks with Aston Villa about taking striking duo Jordan Bowery and Nathan Delfonouso on loan.

Nathan delfoneuso will definately not go on loan to rotheram, championship clubs are interested

26 Jul 2013 22:16:16
Ryan Dickson has signed a one year deal at the U's seems like a good choice for left back basically out marked Andros Townsend at the spurs match, puts in a fair share of tackles and has a sweet left foot for through balls.

Good luck to Ryan, never had a chance at Saints, treated shamefully,
go for it Ryan, show 'em what you can do.
