I am hearing persistent whsiperings that Liverpool are using the interest of Real and Barcelona in their players to keep those Spanish teams away from certain Valencia players that Liverpool are interested in. Sounds plausible, but is that how things really work?
As a LFC supporter I'd prefer to keep Alonso and Mascherano and not get Villa and/or Silva, rather than vice versa, but maybe beggars cannot be choosers.
To all the liverpool fans that say your signing villa and silva.
They have both said on numerouse ocasions that they will not leave spain. Yet you think your 'spanish contingent' will swing it.4 spanish players isn't really going to get someone to come when they have catagorically said they WONT leave spain.

On the low–down, word from Stamford Bridge is that Carlo has a broad four point plan for Chelsea. Here it is:
1. Sell / remove elderly players (a common misconception is that CA likes old players, but it's simply that at AC players liked him and that meant they stayed with him and as a result, AC is now an team with a high average age.) This means Ballack won't be in favour.
2. Sell players with a connection to Jose M (certain players play well for certain coaches and when that coach leaves, it can be best to move them on). This means Carvalho and Deco (I'll put Deco in this band to keep it simple).
3. Buy some width (CR has identified this as Chelsea weaker link). He'll prefer Maicon, Zhirkov and a few youngsters. Essien will be converted into a right sided midfielder.
4. Buy some young depth (Chelsea need depth and younger players will be willing to spend some time of the bench, this is the man who found and nurtured Kaka, Pato etc.). Young depth does not mean Pato, it means a few unheard of South Americans and a few Europeans and a few young English players.

As i stated a week ago Samuel Eto has agreed in principle to join LFC along with kop fan sergio aguero.
Along with Johnson they will be introduced at some stage next week as Aguero and Eto are on holiday.
Their will be no other signings but LFC will release several fringe players.

Man United will sign Benzema as his agent and lyon have reporteed that he is on the market for 30 mil and they do not expect the price to go higher as they know that if david villa is valued at about 40 mil then benzema should be valued less due to his less experience.Sergio Aguero will also sign with a cash plus berbatov deal expected.Valencia is a done deal.The shocker is that nani plus cash will be offered for silva as he has rejeced being a galactico.
I normally read the rumours on this site. Many are very interesting however the rumours have got out of hand as of late so i decided to post something in between a rumour and fact. The following is likely to happen at my club, Old Trafford.
Valencia: The most likely signing. A deal is almost complete however a late surge of interest from Real may turn Valencia's head. its down to Luis now.
Ribery: Extremely unlikely. The price is high and it is understood that the fantastic frenchman prefers Spain as does. .
Benzema: Unlikely. SAF would not want another signing that would prefer Real and he himself wants to stay in France for a further year.
Villa: Again unlikely as he loves Real.
Torres: No chance.
Daniele De Rossi: This could happen. it depends on how much SAF believes that the midfield needs upgrading.
Dodo: An agreement is in place. Although when he will join is uncertain.
Costa: SAF is keen but is unwilling to pay the inflated price. He has a march on his rivals for Costa's signature but for how long. SAF will want to take him on trial but Gremio are reluctant.
Silva: Interesting situation with him. SAF likes him and he won't have to pay as much as he would for Ribery. It depends on wether Silva wants to move to Man Utd.
Eto'o: Wants money over success. Appears destined to go to eastlands unless barca give him a new contract.

Celtic will resist a £4.75m bid from Hull for Scott McDonald. Celtic will also frustrate Hull by signing Fortune from Nancy for excess of £3.8m. As of yet, no other official offers have been made for players.

Balde is obviously leaving and will join Burnley or Birmingham.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY will be making a number of signings in the close season, however nearly all of them will be free transfers due to budget limitations.
1. Ryan France– Hull A central midfielder, hard worker and a known wednesdayite. Released by Hull after nine years of service with the club.
2. Darren Potter– Wolves central midfielder, creative and on loan at Hillsborough for five months last season impressing boss Brian Laws and is now surplus to requirements at Wolves. Would Require a Nominal Fee however.

Celtic are apparently in the running to sign plymouth argyle defender Marcel Seip, however they face stiff competition from three championship clubs who are desperate to capture the highly rated centre back.
Catalan television channel TV3 claims that there's a deal on the transfer of Palmeiras forward Keirrison (20) to Barcelona.
Barcelona would have used the first option they had to buy Keirrison and paid a transfer fee of 13 million euro° plus 3 million euro° incentives. The Brazilian stiker would sign his contract in the coming days.
It's nevertheless not yet clear what the final destination of Keirrison will be since Barcelona is expected to try to include the player in another transfer deal, which means the Brazilian could end up at Valencia in a deal that sees David Villa coming to Barcelona. .FCB would obviously still have to pay some amount money to Valencia.

After acquiring Glen Johnson for around 20m, Rafa will step up his pursuit for another major signing. He will target a left midfielder and top of is wishlist is none other than David Silva and he is willing to bid 27.5m. Ronaldinho is also surprisingly on his wishlist and if the Silva bid fails he will bid 18m for the buck–toothed superstar. Also on his list are Juan Mata(20m) and Ashley Young(30m). Only two major players want to leave Anfield and they are Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso. Xabi won't leave but Masch will move to Barcelona for 55m or 35m plus Bojan and Yaya Toure. They will be Rafa's only signings this summer. Fringe players such as Andriy Voronin, Sebastian Leto, Philipp Degen, Charles Itandje and Andrea Dossena will be offloaded to rake in about 20m. Alvaro Arbeloa will leave to go to Atleti for 8m, so Rafa will have 28m for two more signings. Gabriel Agbonlahor will surprisingly sign for 20m and Steven Defour will join for a cut price 8m because he wants to play in England and the Champions League
A 2–way battle is being fought out 4 Lyon superstar Karim Benzema between Man Utd and Real Madrid. Man Utd and SAF have been following Benzema since his breakthrough 06–07 season and are now cashed up. Real Madrid have given up on David Villa and have also been following Benzema for some time and Lyon president Aulas has admitted that he would rather sell Benzema 2 Madrid while Benzema has previously admitted his desire 2 play 4 Los Blancos.
Madrid have completed the signing of Raul Albiol from Valencia 2 add 2 CR7 and Kaka. It is belived that they have set aside 50 million 4 Bayern's Franck Ribery.
Barcelona are close on the signing Brazil's hottest talent Kerrison from Palmeiras they have bid around 15 million and are expected 2 use him as bait in a bid 4 David Villa and are willing 2 go as high as 35 million + Kerrison (on loan) and Caceras. This could encourage Man City in a 30 million bid 4 Eto'o.
Arsenal are still on the look out 4 a new CB it is expected that no–one except Senderos will leave Arsenal (Not even Silvestre!)but Sakho and Hangeland are looking less and less likely. Alternatives include Cristoph Metzelder and Bayern's unsettled Lucio. Arsenal are still extremeley interested in Felipe Melo and have Miguel Veloso as an alternative.
Chelsea are close 2 signing Yuri Zhirkov 4 around 18.5 million while Daniel Sturridge will move 2 Stamford Bridge 4 whose fee is yet 2 b determined. Deco and Carvalho are expected 2 leave 2 Inter who have offered an initial 8.3 million which they are open 2 negotiation.
Liverpool will make one last signing and the favourite is Alvaro Negrredo who Benitez has a stron perchant 4 and is willing 2 pay 12 million which will make Almeira (+Real Madrid)'s asking price or alternatively they may ask 4 him as part of an expected move by Madrid 4 Alvaro Arbeloa.
I was on my way home for work in Leicester, going past the walkers stadium and jermain beckford pulled up alongside my car, As leeds have put him up for transfer this could be a possible move for beckford as leicester have been promoted back into the championship and then he can player a higher standard of football than league 1. The day I saw him he could have been talking to milan mandaric and nigel pearson about a possible move this summer.
Rickie Lambert is being strongly lined up to join Leicester City have the club confirmed they have given up hope of signing Simon Cox.
Also, the Leicester City scouting team have been searching around Eastern European countries so expect some unknown, young talented players to come to Leicester, just like Tunchev last season.
Joe Mattock is to leave the club and join Burnley or Bolton.

I work for an engineering company who maintain Melwood Training Ground and the engineer has just told me that he was sure he saw Elano being shown round yesterday. Not sure how accurate this is with the news of him being offered to Inter Milan, but interesting noe the less. The last time he said he saw someone it was Torres, I didn't post it that time as I didn't believe him myself.

Celtic are close to signing midfielder Michael Stewart from Hearts. Tony Mowbray is a huge admirer of the midfielder having managed him at Hibs. Stewart will meet Mowbray next week to seal the deal. Stewart is desperate to join Celtic and rekindle the special relationship he had with Mowbray. Stewart will demand Hearts allow him his dream move and will write a transfer request. Stewart is in the final year of his current three year contract.

Firstly to the bitter blue who had a go at LFC fans from all over the world for posting rumours – just because LFC have a larger and wider fan base than Everton does not mean that there are more Everton fans than Liverpool fans in our city. You are clearly dillusional if you believe that stupid 'fact' that most blues go on about presumably because you have nothing else to celebrate. We have fans from all over the world because of our many successes over the years – the same is true of Manchester United – it does not mean that people from the city do not support them. I supose all of the fans who turned out at such short notice after recent champions league and FA cup successes all drove into the city and started to decorate random people's houses!!!
Secondly, I do have to have a go at the 'fans' who are posting 'rumours' stating that we are going to sign about 7or8 player and sell a couple as well. If you knew anything about LFC and actually went to any games you would realise that Rafa has built a really good team ethic at the club – he wants to try to keep this squad together as much as possible and wants to keep balance to the team – so reports of us signing 3 strikers and 4 wingers are well wide of the mark.
There is some concern over us losing players – most notably Alonso and Mascherano – Benitez has stated neither are for sale but that will not stop Madrid from bidding and the same goes for Barca and Masch but ultimatley Rafa will see if the players are fully committed to the cause by stating that they are happy at Anfield (it may well be that both are given an improved contract) and that will end all specualtion – but for the moment Rafa has to wait.
Arbeloa has been linked with a move to Madrid and Dossena with a move back to Italy (perhaps not after that own goal!!) and both may be allowed to leave if the price is right.
However as I said Benitez wants to keep the squad together and only wanted to add 1 or 2 players (one already done – G. Johnson) the other is not known to anyone – not even players themselves – Rafa has a list of striker/attacking player options and he will go for whoever he thinks he can get – David Villa has been mentioned but i'm not sure we could meet the asking price.

Burnley have agreed a fee for Tyrone Mears for around £1 Million. When he returns from holiday this week he will come to Turf Moor to agree personal fees.
Also David Edgar will come for a medical at Turf Moor this week, where personal terms will be agreed.

I have a very reliable source inside anfield. I expect the following to happen during this summer:–
a.)Their will be no takeover of the club from any arabs, but an investment from a spanish consortium is currently being negotiated. This will be for a percentage share of the club. I expect this transaction to completed by middle of july.
b.)As for transfer signing, there will not be too much activity. Silva will be the big signing together with a couple of good british youth/squad players.

The information came from a source very close to MSI. The transfers will go ahead IF the takeover happens. Cole will only happen if Chelsea are able to sign one of their midfield targets.

I have it on good authority that Gilberto Silva will be returning to Arsenal this summer. This move is due to the fact that Arsene Wenger cannot find a suitable holding midfielder in the current transfer market. He targeted several players for the position, however those players have either snubbed the chance to join Arsenal or have been priced out of a move, for example, Felipe Melo and Yaya Toure. Therefore Wenger has decided to re–sign Gilberto, who will play a significant role in the first team in the 2009/10 season, before becoming a squad player due to his advancing years the season after. When the two year contract expires it is believed that he will move into a coaching role at the Emirates, and an agreement for this is already in place regardless of whether the transfer occurs. Panathanaikos will be reluctant to sell but they will respect the players wishes and allow him to leave. A fee in the region of £2 million pounds should be necessary to obtain his services. This transfer is purely intended to fill the gap for a season, after which Wenger will sign a younger but proven replacement to fill the void. This player is unknown as he is yet to be targeted, but my source tells me that they will in fact be tutored by Gilberto throughout the 2010/11 campaign. The deal is in place and should only take a week or two to complete.
