Aye, but Wenger plans on bringing in Centre halfs who will push him down your pecking order, so that's why he's leaving Celtic open as an option. Now i reckon Wenger's ambitions will be supported by the board, thus Campbell will end up wanting to move. That's simple. However we may meet competition. Who knows? What i do know though is that Celtic will meet him this week and if it's them showing him the contract he wants, as well as the guarantee of being pretty much idolised and part of a side with a better chance of winning something at this stage of his career, maybe he would rather go to Celtic. Man City will complete their £25m capture of Yaya Toure some time this week. David Silva may follow Toure to Eastlands if Chelsea or Man Utd don't show a bigger interest.
Man Utd will complete the signing of Brazilian youngster Dodo this summer for £5.4m and may loan him out to Sporting Lisbon.
Joe Cole will also complete a free transfer to Tottenham in two weeks time. Luka Modric is a £22m target for Man Utd.
Arsenal will sign Laurent Koscielny for £9.5m plus the loan of Armand Traore. Expect Arsenal to also try and sign either Marseille player Stephane M'Bia or Stuttgart's Sami Khedira.
Jose Mourinho will officially launch a bid to sign Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov this week aswell as completing the signing of Angel Di Maria for 30m plus Ezequiel Garay after the World Cup.
Juventus will complete the signings of Catania striker Jorge Martinez and Bari defender Leonardo Bonucci this week. The Old Lady will also try to offload Brazilian Diego to Benfica or Werder Bremen, if Mezut Ozil leaves to join Man Utd.

Cardiff city news. Bad news, got told this by my cousin a current player, big rows at cardiff, between directors and dave jones and gethin jenkins.been told there will be only 2 signings, one on a free and one loan.whittingam is going to forest for 1.8, and darcy blake for 1 mill to bolton, with money going off debts.bad times.
Not sure of the veracity of the above, but it fits in with the fact that Cardiff have no money. The initial investment is gone and there is no more. Zilch. Nothing. Zero. The cupboard is bare until players are sold, it's a complete rebuilding exercise without Dave Jones by the way. One false dawn too many for him after the last administration.

Half of the people on this site have only heard about Ozil during the world cup so don't make up things about him. He has said during the season he will only consider a move to Arsenal or Barcelona.

Deals HAVE been done for Nicky Shorey and Darren Prattley and will be announced the first week of July.
Peter Whittingham talks are ongoing and Forest have a few small things to iron out with Cardiff before transfer papers can be signed, if at all.
No deal has been done for Nicky Shorey he has several options, including Forest, and is considering them. The Whittingham deal is off.

Actually, it was a very enjoyable evening with good company in Nottingham if you must know.
I know I didn't mention Earnshaw, that's because Cardiff are signing him. Blackstock is leaving as well, Peterborough have put in a bid for him but other Championship clubs are interested as well however they have not yet to my knowledge submitted a formal bid. If Blackstock doesn't go to Peterborough I won't lose sleep over it, all I know is that he's moving on.
May have predicted a few, but it's only going on information that I have received from a source close to the club (JD can work it out IF you have a brain, equal on the insults now I take it).
I would hazard a guess and say that 80% of the signings I said would happen will happen. Whittingham and De Laet very very likely, Dawson, Spearing and Bothroyd are likely but other teams are also interested and may submit bids before Forest.

Well let's wait and see as reiterated I got the info from a senior source within the club, and if we get those players in then great, if not then no skin off my nose. Let's just look forward to promotion back to the Premiership.

The new Liverpool FC investors are believed to be Qatar Investment Authority. It is believed that the QIA had informed Barclays Capital (QIA are a client of BC) of their interest, and due diligence has apprently been carried out. The bid is thought to be around £530 million and has been endorsed by H & G as it will clear all debt (£480million) including the extra debt associated with Kop Holdings.
While all parties would have preferred the talks remained confidential, despite the usual nondisclosure agreements beeing signed the leaks are emerging as the lawyers draw up the final documents required for a takeover.
The next week or so will reveal all.

Gary Hooper is definitley not going to Leeds his most likely destination will either be Nottingham Forest, west brom or blackburn. Hooper views a move to leeds as a sideways move in his career. He would only be at the bottom end of the championship if he joined leeds.

I was talking to a mate who works at a 'blue' club who told me the following, after a discusion very recently with someone VERY high up there (can't say any more else he may get sacked):
1. Rafa had to leave under orders of RBS due to the fear that Big Name players would leave if he was manager next season therfore reducing the clubs value (so no 'asset stripping' going on!)
2 . The price of £800m was reduced down to about the £540560m value also under instruction from RBS as it would never have sold and they threatened to make H&G bankrupt if they didn't agree. (note: the £540m offer was appernetly rejected and another bid of £560m is being tabled)
3. The leading buyers are indeed from the middle east and looks to be the brother of City's owner! (as has been previously mentioned n this site before).
4. Apparently they do not get on (sibling rivalry) and the word is that there will be a battle for who's team can be the best.
If this is true then maybe (fingers crossed) its a good future for LFC!

Middlesborough and Bristol City are set to make an offer for Celtics Georgios Samaras, although the player has options abroad. His agent, Steve Ranuris, is trying to get some premiership interest but none forthcoming at the moment. A fee of around 2m is expected to seal a deal with Celtic desparate to unload him and his wages of 25k per week. He won't get that at 'Boro or City, but he'll get splinters in his arse if he doesn't move.

There is talk of a Norweigian defender coming in, YES Forest have been and watched a player, but that's as far as its gone, no talks have taken place.
Forest have again shown an intrest in the Newcastle striker Xisco, at 6' 2" and with pace too, he is a viable option to replace Joe Garner who looks like he could be loaned out to Doncaster Rovers.
Billy Davies wants to add players to his squad before preseason starts and is looking to tie all deals up within the next few days.

(ii) Van Der Wiel to Arsenal, Yes he is being 'tracked' but Arsenal do not need a Right back NOW !
Arsenal will not be big spenders till they sort out those foolish Emirates Jersey and Nike contracts till 2013 and 2012. They got badly shafted on these contracts for various reasons and even with a stable financial structure they would only just go for investment that would keep them secure in their current situation.

Actually, it was a very enjoyable evening with good company in Nottingham if you must know.
I know I didn't mention Earnshaw, that's because Cardiff are signing him. Blackstock is leaving as well, Peterborough have put in a bid for him but other Championship clubs are interested as well however they have not yet to my knowledge submitted a formal bid. If Blackstock doesn't go to Peterborough I won't lose sleep over it, all I know is that he's moving on.
May have predicted a few, but it's only going on information that I have received from a source close to the club (JD can work it out IF you have a brain, equal on the insults now I take it).
I would hazard a guess and say that 80% of the signings I said would happen will happen. Whittingham and De Laet very very likely, Dawson, Spearing and Bothroyd are likely but other teams are also interested and may submit bids before Forest.

Following Englands terrible performances at the World Cup, some of the proposed transfers are now likely to be cancelled or changed. Milner will put in a transfer request because City are getting cold feet. For 28m and the crazy wages they can get Ozil. Who would you take? So they will go back to their original take it or leave it offer.

I have no high level sources, just what Ive heard from different people who follow these things closely. Man Utd will start moving for players in the next week, however the majority of moves for all teams will not occur til after the WC is completed. At the moment, SAF is looking at two swap deals. Secondly, Mesut Ozil has firmly placed himself as the #1 target for Utd, and WErder Bremen have expresed some interest in berbatov, so a swap is possible albeit with some cash as well. Luis Fabiano and Alexis Sanchez both desperately want to come to Utd. Fabiano is a possibility for less than 15mil, but Sanchez seems unlikely as both Valencia and Nani are RW only players, so unless Sanchez develops a left foot, I don't see it happening. My best guess for this window:

Not posted for a while..but just to say that whilst pretenders from other "forums" have been hailed as saviours for talking up abu dhabi etc please just remember that I stated many a time that according to my "itk's" that shiek Mohammed was the front runner all along.
So whilst these pretenders may lead certain people up the garden path with false hopes etc, back in the real world shiek Mohammed has been a busy little so and so, and recent conversations and work related stuff have actually reenforced my belief that a deal will be announced soon.

Defenders with Gallas off to Juventus and Silvestre going to the UAE, expect two of, Laurent Koscielny, Gregory van der Wiel or Simon Kjζr (personally if we could get all three I'd be happier, as I don't think Hεvard Nordtveit and Johan Djourou are the finished players we need to compete on three fronts this season).
Young Guns Eden Hazard, Christian Eriksen and Ivan Doni will be signed onto the young guns conveyor belt. Hazard arriving in summer 2011 and Eriksen return to Ajax on loan. With Wellington de Silva and Damiαn Martνnez joining in January and Samuel Galindo (going on loan to Salamanca) and Pedro Botelho strengthening the squad in the summer the final pieces of Arsθne's jigsaw will be complete.
The goalkeeping question will be answered after preseason. Personally I don't expect any changes however much I'd like us to sign a top rate keeper, Maarten Stekelenburg being my choice. Almunia will remain our number one with Vito Mannone and Wojciech Szczęsny being the covering keepers. Flappy will be loaned out probably to Legia Warsaw (Maciej Gostomski coming our way), the deal being done after the clubs agree a link agreement after the game on 7th August.

Not so much a rumour as an observation. Liverpool FC are now in a catch 22 situation. As Bobo the clown has already said, they hope to sell the club as soon as possible, but untill they do I find it difficult to believe that any manager would come to a club not knowing if he had a job once the new owners were in place, since they may want to appoint there own manager. The same thing applies to new players coming in, as some players will want to play under certain managers, and some won't. So the club can't really move forward untill the takeover is completed, and any "100% TRUE" rumours are 100% bull. If nothing happens before the start of the season, expect KK as an interim manager and basically nothing on the transfer front, just treading water and mid table mediocrity. On the plus side don't expect any contracted players to leave as they will be used as assets to value the club higher (surely a Liverpool with Gerrard and Torres has a higher revenue value than a club without them?).

Aside from the fact that you don't have that much money to spend on players, not even Ken Bates is stupid enough to pay 3 mil for a player who is available on a free (being out of contract). I would seriously doubt that Ryan McGowan would be looking at moving to a Championship club. I would suspect that he has his eyes on a PL team.
How long did it take Leeds to get out of League One and now they think they are the best team in Europe and everyone wants to play for them. Good luck to Leeds but you really need to lower your wishlists for players to realistic propositions at low cost.

Not sure how much you want to read into this..
I live in dubai. This morning i received a letter from RBS in Dubai to say that their Retail Banking business (including Royal Preferred Banking and Business Banking) has been bought by ADCB = Abu Dhabi Commerical Bank. That occured on the 16th June
If you don't know who or what ADCB is, i am quoting exactly what is written in the letter:
'ADCB is one of the largest banks in the Middle East, offering an impressive suite of products and services for retail banking, wealth management, investment, commercial and Islamic banking.
ADCB is majority owned by Abu Dhabi Investment Council, the soverign wealth fund of the Abu Dhabi Government.'
Although Dubai may have no 'money', Abu Dhabi has pools of cash.
Could it be related to Liverpool? is RBS in Dubai affiliated with RBS back in England? and more importantly is this a sign of a future takeover? liverpool = business, rbs = business, ADNB = serious business..
Your thoughts people {editor's note – I very much doubt it, the reason parts of RBS are being sold off is because they have to under the terms of the agreement made when they were rescued by the govt.}

What so were drpping valencia who we paid 16 mill only last year and was one of our best players last year. And i believe united do have money to spend if SAF needs it but we will not be able to all of them, to be honest i doubt you have ever heard of these players never mind seen them play a full 90 minutes'.
I would prefer united to sign ozil seen him play quite a bit now and he looks like he could be the real deal. not seen suarez play much but what ive seen im not compleatly confinced he has scored some good goals but he contantly gets caught offside and ALWAYS goes for the hollywood option. I personally would like to see ozil and fabiano come in. fabiano is a proven goalscorer but is old enough that we can give our youngsters a chance.
