LFC – DOWNING UPDATE –
I live on Pinehurst Avenue and on Sat i was driving up Skerries to go to the Wifes. as i can out of Skerries seen this Audi Q7 with downing as the passenger at the lights just before the petrol station. i beeped and nodded towards the ground (thought id try my luck), he just shrugged his sholders and the car drove off. he wasn't driving so i don't think it was his car but you never know. anyone who is a fan of LFC can tell im no blagger so lets see what happens. to be honest id rather have him than that ruddy riera.

Liverpool will complete the signing of Albert Riera with James Milner likely to conclude the summer signings. Rafa Benitez will move for a cup–tied Gareth Barry in January.

With Milner's transfer request a bidding war will begin between Liverpool and Villa. Its more likely that Villa will win this with Barry as bait for Liverpool to stay away from Milner and grab the player they want. He must already starting to pack his bags and book his ticket to Merseyside.
To the guy tho posted "Celtic have bid around £3.2M for Steven Fletcher from Hibs, also expect another german full back to arrive on Friday, not sure of the name though."
Hibs have announced many times, bids for Fletcher will start at £5million so your £3.2m will buy you his right boot, Also expect Deek's to return home by the end of the window, £100,00 has been agreed and will sign a 3year deal at ER

Speaking to an insider at Newcastle who has advised that Milner will leave in a 10.5 million deal to either Liverpool, Aston Villa or surprisingly Fiorentina have also expressed interest. Newcastle will replace him by making bids for Joaquain, Diego Capel and Bastion Swienstiger. Expect one of these to be signed if Milner goes. Alan Smith is also expected to be sold for 3million to Rangers. Newcastle are also looking at left backs and strikers but if they have to spend more then they receive to replace Milner expect the Striker plan to be abandonded and one of the above players and a left back costing no more then 5million to be signed.
LFC Rumours
Alonso is destined to join up with Wenger and Fabregas this week. Wenger desperately needs an experienced midfield player and will go for Alonso at a cheaper option than Barry. Rafa will accept £14 million. Riera is another average player who will not adapt to the premier league.
Look for Rafa to make late bid for Barry/Milner.
Rafa will try a final take it or leave bid for Barry on tranfer deadline day at £14 million. Also leaving Voronin,Pennant and 50:50 Hyppia/Finnan.

Rafa, obviously worried about the lack of 'wide play' knowing that LFC are so one dimensional always playing through the centre, is in need of another winger. After an audacious bid for Kaka being knocked back (he prefers the sun in Italy to the rain in Liverpool), expect a bid for SWP for around £12 (he will go to Liverpool not Man City).
Arsenal will sign Alonso for £13.4m or Barry for £16m or Johnson for £12m on Friday. One of those will happen and that is the order of priority for the players. Alonso 1, Barry 2, Johnson 3.

Its been heard Adebayor may still leave AFC before the end of the transfer door closes although its not known where . If Gareth Barry moves 2 AFC expect a AFC player 2 move the other way as part of the deal and it might be Song or Diaby .

To the guy who said benitez should let others pick his signings. . that's what is happening isnt it? He wanted Barry and the board said no, because he couldnt offload Alonso.He is told who he can buy and who he cant by the Yanks and Parry,have to buy second rate stopgaps yet he will carry the can for it! the sooner Parry goes the better.
Alonso will now go to Arsenal for £13.5M because they are desperate for a partner for Cesc, thereby saving LFC a chunk of money under the sell on clause (£5M if £13M or less, 2% if over £13M). That should mean Barry deal back on but my guess is the board will tell Rafa to manage with Lucas, and then when things go wrong the shambolic board blame Rafa and say they backed his judgement! ALONSO TO STAY AT ANFIELD – IN RAFA WE TRUST
Yes it's true Lfc will complete the move for albert Riera from espanyol and chelsea the signing of Robinho from Real. Also chelsea is on the move for luis Fabiano and i don't know if this means that a departure is on the plans too. As for tottehnam they decide that pavlyuchenko will be more useful than arshavin in the club and they will sign him soon.I agree with that decision concedering they have already sign Modric a player similar to arshavin and the departure of berbatov. Surely it would be a fantastic year in the PL. the Greek LFC fun
We've all heard Pavluchenko is about to sign for Tottenham, what we don't know is that Arshavin has agreed too with Zakora going to St Petersberg as part of the deal. They will become the new Keane and Berbatov which paves the way for Berbatov to join Utd for £25.6 million. Spurs will then have a team of superstars with one dodgy defence, should be fun! Gonna be a great season!
Well, it looks like Everton are gonna miss out on another player with Riera going to sign for Liverpool on Thursday. He wasn't that good when at City so lets hope he's improved since then or is it just going to be another average signing by Benitez, another stop gap. I think maybe Benitez should let someone else pick his signings because most of them are distinctly average squad players, he strikes gold every now and again but not on the regular basis of Ferguson or Wenger, which is really the main difference between us and winning, too many average players.
1 more signing to come though, Di Natale coming from Italy as right sided winger, he's 30 but quite tricky, we will have to wait and see.
According to my friend in Germany Luca Toni has had a major falling out with Lucas Podolski and the board feel one of them has to go. It seems Toni is going, despite all his goals, as Podolski is the golden boy of German football. He will go back to Italy with Roma and Munich will replace him with the Arsenal's very own Adebayour. They see him as very similar to Toni.
This will spark Arsenal into rare transfer activity and they will bid for Niang or Gomis from the French Leagues. Will all happen this weekend, just watch and see.
Newcastle to flog Viduka to Udinese for £2 million as they are sick of his injuries. They will replace him with Beattie from Sheff Utd for £5 million.
Newcastle will finish their summer spending with Tom Soares from Crystal Palace for £1.5 million. Newcastle will be pushing for Europe in the league this year and will win Carling Cup.

According to the Daily Record Celtic are to sign 21 year old striker James Brown from Hartlepool for £3M

Expect Naka to leave in January if we are out of the Champions League, if not then next summer.
Expect liverpool to sign both quaresma and downing as we need more midfielders. QUaresma has flown to england to tie a deal with the reds for about 28m pounds. Downing will be announced as a liverpool player on the 29th as i always say. Royston drenthe will complete his dream move to anfield on the last day of the transfer window if either downing or quaresma do not sign in time.

Man City representatives have flown out to Brazil to tie–up deals for Brazilian Olympic team members Thiago Neves and Hernanes from Flamengo and Sao Paulo respectively. Man City are looking to add to their midfield, and are looking at Xabi Alonso of Liverpool, Joao Moutinho from Sporting Lisbon and Carzola from Villareal.
I work for the News of the World newspaper, and i have insiders at every premier league side and some rumours i can give to you are:
My insiders at Tottenham AND Man United can both confirm the Dimitar Berbatov will be leaving for Old Trafford for a fee of around £25mil, this should go through in this transfer window and possibly at the end of this week at the earliest.
My spanish collegue can confirm that Sergio Aguero will be targets by Man. United next summer with a bid of around £30mil.
At Chelsea, Robinho will make his move to Stamford Bridge at long last by next week, the proposed swoop for both Robinho and Kaka will happen but Kaka's deal will not go through until next summer providing that Shevchenko makes an impact in his second spell at Milan.

Rick parry will be shunned out of anfield sooner rather than later, Being replaced by the FA's and Liverpools own Brian Barwick.
Riera Move looks certain but don't be suprised if Rafa doesn't pull a few suprises, he has done in the past with the likes of Babbel and Torres and mascherano.
Arsenal will make these moves before the end of the transfer window.
1. Following the departure of senderos on loan Metzelder will be brought in on loan.
2.Either Barry or Alonso will sign a 3 year deal after villa's match in the uefa cup expect to see villa sign o'hara on loan.
3.An un named striker will sign possibly Mutu.
Celtic Rumours
Riorden will not be joining Hibs as they cant match his wages and he knows that he can sign for free elsewhere in 4.5 months. Given that several english teams are interested in him he will move to a championship team at the end of the season earning about 4 times what he will get at Hibs.

If anyone caught Football Matters on Setanta earlier today Jason Mcateer said he had talked to Rafa Benitez who told him he would sell Alonso to Arsenal. So I guess if AW stumps up the 15odd million pounds he'll be on his way to the emirates.
