craig cameron lookalike stephen hughes, has signed a two n a half year deal with the dons(7)(5)The deal is done.This sums up the SPL standard, no disrespect intended to Hughes but while a decent enough player he could barely get a game last year in Norwich championship team that went on to promotion, and he has just signed a 2-1/2 year deal to play in SPL, it kind of highlights why apart from Celtic & Rangers most of the SPL teams would struggle to get into the top half of championship.
Its no surprise that the standard of championship has risen the last few years, with foreign imports coming into PL, a lot of very tidy players have to drop down to championship for regular football.

There may also be a move for an unknown centre-half. We obviously will not get all of the above.
As for the other rumours, Adam Smith looks set to be staying with MK Dons. He would seem to prefer staying nearer North London and the Dons are playing a good brand of football. I don't think we're in for any Portsmouth players, as has been suggested, but we have been linked with Terry Gornell, Gary Roberts (before he got injured) and Marius Okounghae. The thing with Leeds is that nothing is ever certain. We are not being competitive enough with our contracts; offering low-end wages and only short-term deals. This makes it less likely that we will sign any of the above. If I had to have a punt, I would say Broadfoot and Andrews would arrive; as Boyd wants a lot of money and Wellens is a regular feature on Leicester's team-sheet - as good a signing as he would be, it would be more difficult to prise him away.
Leaving should be Alex Bruce to LA Galaxy, while Andy O'Brien, following his tribunal, and Billy Paynter could leave as well. At least we should recoup some wages.
