A deal to bring Tommy Spurr to the City Ground is still undergoing consideration by Sheffield Wednesday. The sum is quite considerable, but the club are still deciding whether or not they are willing to sell.
The Matt Mills transfer saga is almost over, with a deal being forged between Forest and Doncaster with Billy keen to get him in before the Stoke game.
Paul Hart is taking a serious interest in James Perch, and he could be leaving Forest soon.
Luca Toni is a potential target for West Ham

Ross McCormack to Wigan – Wigan will pay £3.5m and will send Kevin Kilbane in the opposite direction.
Paul Parry to Oldham – £1m plus Chris Taylor.
Charlie Adam will sign from Rangers, providing that Rangers sign David Healy (Cardiff are also interested in signing Healy, but will back off if Rangers agree to let them sign Adam). Steven Smith will also be heading to Cardiff.
Peter Whittingham to Nottingham Forest – £1m.
Cardiff will also look to sign a goalkeeper – most likely Minnone. Heard Itanje might be given a trial but it's doubtful any side would want him after his actions at the Hilsborough memorial.

We all know about gobse Harry talking up transfers in, so if Vierra is coming expect Jenas/Keane to be a real possibilty as part of a deal to get Young. Dos Santos (I keep saying it) is a better long term bet than Keane who seems to think he's a midfielder now.

Although most rumours are exactly that, I would like to place a wad of cash on Jan Klass Huntelaar being a gooner by the start of the season. With the spuds looking to sign a bean (pole) as they can afford his wages then as a gooner myself the thought of Van Persie up front with a touch of Klass seems perfect. Wrap that up with a hard DM and maybe Richards as part of the Toure (hope not) deal and it could make for an interesting season. Hope everyone is feeling the same as the new season draws closer. With Celtic grabbing all the attention this summer, Rangers are going quietly about their business of ridding themselves of some "dead wood" in a bid to raise funds and free up unnecessary wages.
Deals to take Charlie Adam and Lee McCulloch from Ibrox to England are imminent, with Blackpool and Middlesbrough their most likely destinations.
Alan Gow has also been told he can leave the SPL Champions if he can find himself a club, and with Plymouth Argyle and West Brom lurking, Rangers are not without hope of shifting another of their surplus squad players.
When funds are eventually made available, Walter Smith looks set to swoop for long term target, Danny Shittu of Bolton Wanderers, who snubbed a move to Ibrox last summer in favour of the Reebok but has been told by boss Gary Megson that he can leave.
Peter Lovenkrands is also in talks with the Govan giants after he impressed Billy Kirkwood during training sessions and bounce games at Rangers training ground in Auchenhowie, a pay as you play deal may be on the cards for the one time cult hero of the Ibrox legions.
Across the city, Mowbray is assembling a squad which looks big enough to cope with challeneges at home and abroad this season. With Stuttgart having been put out of the race and Spurs confirming the signing of Peter Crouch, only Arsenal and AC Milan remain in the race for the Real Madrid striker. However Huntelaar would prefer a move to Arsenal for the following reasons:
–He prefers a move to the prem, thus he knocked back Stuttgart
–He would like to join up with his Dutch team mate van Persie
Van Persie has recommended signing a new striker to Wenger, and has suggested Huntelaar, who Wenger is already a keen admirer of. As far as bidding goes, Arsenal would be able to compete with Milan as Wenger has the £25m from Adebayor available to spend, and Huntelaar would cost no more than £18m. For another thing, Real president Perez has announced that he is looking to have a clearout of players at Madrid, as there are currently too many players at the Bernebeau. Huntelaar, amongst players such as van der Vaart, Robben and Sneijder will be attempted to be sold. Huntelaar could be in an Arsenal shirt as soon as the Emirates Cup (this weekend).

Any deal for Real Madrids Huntelaar looks to be dead after Arsenal told Real that they would have to slash their £17 million valuation to nearer £10 million. It seems now more likely that Arsenal will land Kalou who is apparently not in the new managers plans and has only a year left on his current deal. However even this deal will become a struglle with Arsenal playing hard ball over the fee, expect a Lass Diarra type last minute deal, for nothing more than £3.5 million (just half of what Chelsea intially valued the player at this summer) or no deal!

To whoever said that Plymouth were about to sign Reuben Reid, I very much doubt it, considering that they let him go for nothing last season. Arshavin transfer was protracted as Zenit kept moving the goalposts and agents trying to get a bigger fee from other clubs.
