Foster on loan to SunderlandSeveral things to clear up here: 1. Hleb will NEVER play in Scotland. Either Premeirship or back to Germany where several teams are interested including Kaiserslaughtern (sp?) and Bayern. 2. Hargreaves CAN'T leave Germany because of a crazy tax system. Bayern would have to give up roughly 35% of the signing bonus. Meaning that the difference of what would be a fair price to them would have to be increased by ManU to a point where the signing isn't worth it. Next year, the taxes are eased slightly and may facilitate a move. 3. Torres WILL go to ManU. He will be a crowd favorite for about 2 months until the fans see that he isn't capable of handling the physical game in England. 4. Donavan WON'T make a top 10 Premeirship team and will be useless if he plays anywhere in the Premeirship (see Torres above and also his World Cup performance). 5. Adu going back to the USA is not because he can't handle the physical aspect. It's because he has no touch and his awareness is not acute enough for the English game yet. Try again in 2-3 years. 6. Defoe will NEVER be a red, ever. Rafa doesn't rate him and has stated he has no idea why these rumours persist. Look at history folks, Rafa always says who he's after, and eventually gets him (see Bellamy, Kuyt, Alonso, Garcia, Gonzo, Zenden, etc). 7. Huntelaar is a young hero at Ajax and will stay there at least until Summer. At that time, he'll make it to a top 4 club (not Chelsea because they have no interest) 8. There hasn't been a cogent post from an Arsenal fan in some time. Henry is at times the goat and at times the cheated. Face it, the problem is not with Henry, it's with the management. Maybe the new stadium ereally IS cursed. 9. IF Klose goes anywhere it will be Barca or LFC. Those are the only teams he is interested in that are interested in him. 10. Finnan, Hyypia, Kewell are all staying at LFC simply because they are worth more to the team than the money they'd be ble to get for them.

Rangers - There is no warchest to spend in January, all the money made so far from Europe is covering the pay-offs made to Bernard, Andrews, Malcolm etc at the start of the season. Pandev of Lazio has been linked for £3m+, but will only sign if Boyd is sold to a premiership club for the same amount, which is a possibility as Le Guen doesn't rate him as a team player. The other option is a loan deal for Marouane Chamakh at Bordeaux, who is currently unsettled but prefers a move to the premiership and may go to Man City or Portsmouth.
Alan Smith on loan was a possibility, but Ferguson is unhappy with the treatment of Bardsley who was frozen out after a training ground incident with Buffel so will no longer allow Smith to go to Rangers. Le Guen will give the likes of Sebo, Svensson, Buffel, Novo, Sionko and Papac a full season to prove themselves and so will not look to replace the underperformers just yet. At the moment, the only certaren'ty is that Whittaker of Hibs will be signed for £750k plus Gavin Rae, with possibly Naismith of Kilmarnock arriving for the same amount.
Celtic - around £6m will be available in January following their champions league performance, however they are still shelling out big wages on three of the highest earners at the club - Balde, Thomson and Jarosik who are not playing at the moment and so will not buy big names so as not to break the wage structure. Strachan is reluctant to spend the whole lot on Brown and Thompson from Hibs as both players are unproven on the European stage. Huntelaar is a pipe dream, he would cost £10m+ and can pretty much have his pick of any team in Europe at the moment, why would he go to Celtic and the SPL? Also he is cup-tied and Strachan needs players that are available for Europe. Stokes will sign from Arsenal for £1.5m with Arsenal being given the first option to buy him back at a later date. There will also be a shock move for Everton winger Van Der Meyde, who will arrive on loan with the option to buy for £2m in the summer assuming he can stay fit. Strachan will therefore not spend all his budget and look to spend big next summer to build on their success so far this season.CELTIC NEWS
