Evening all, me again with a few transfers for the Summer from Scotland. I work for a major Scottish daily newspaper, but I am not going to pretend I am a journo or anything like that. I merely work in the editing department. Anyway heres the news for the January transfer window. Celtic will be looking for more of a spark in the middle of the park, mainly due to the fitness of Donati and the likelihood of suspensions/injury to Scott Brown/Aiden McGeady. James McFadden will be joining in January, with Moyes finally pandering to his desire for more first team football. He is seem as ample cover for both wings, and attacking through the middle. Gravesen will be used as a makeweight in this deal, although money will also be changing hands, probably around 1.5 to £2 million. Also look for Balde to leave permanently to Sunderland as Keane looks to bolster an inexperienced defense. Riordan will be going nowhere in January, although a Summer move is not off the cards, if Strachan gets his main target (Robbie Keane if anyones interested). Rangers are not looking to add dramatically to the squad in the window, although there may be an addition to the front line if Celtic are more than 6 points ahead come Christmas. Look for Smith to add a few youngsters to the ranks, details at the moment are sketchy although Reynolds of Motherwell has been touted. There is also talk of Fletcher and Murphy of Hibernian being looked at from Govan, although Hibernian are unwilling to sell. The Murphy transfer is hinged on Stevie Smiths long term battle with a hip injury, and Fletchers transfer on the imminent departure of Kris Boyd. Boyd is becoming disillusioned by the lack of first team opportunity, and at being played as a lone frontman. Summer news does not come bigger than this one, although I am aware it's in the open already. Kenny Miller has already been lined up to join Rangers in the Summer, as he has not settled to life back in England, and wants to prove Celtic wrong. Fee is in the region of 4 Million of Derby stay up, three if they are relegated. Davies sees this as a no–brainer, as he will break even on Miller, and he may provide the goals to keep Derny up. Also expect major developments from Parkhead in the Summer, as the profits are soaring at the moment due to the decreased wage bill. Keane, as mentioned, is number 1 target although there are a few players being looked at, some very big. Names as big as Michael Owen and Shaun Wright Philips are being touted, although the wages will have to be negotiated down dramatically.
