As someone who knows Glen, I know that this is complete bollocks as he would love the chance to play in a right midfield role. He's trying his best to engineer the move with good attacking moves versus terrible defensive performances.

Then as you claim to know him you should probably tell him that Kelly played well at right back on sunday and that defending badly in an effort to get yourself moved to a more advanced position is a quick way to find yourself out of the club. I don't know Glen aswell as you but he doesn't sound the brightest of chaps.(0)(1)

Onto an actual rumour, apparently Glen Johnson was supposed to start in right midfield on Sunday but refused to play and took off! Rumour was going round the Derry club.

Exactly. Just look at the Gerrard stories. We'll never know if they were 100% true or not until the day they get printed and responded to. Especially with the magical super injunction proving so effective. {ed's note - I know a fair few of them were complete rubbish, but that is because people will make up any old rubbish to get at a player from a rival team.}

That and there are also far too many out there after a cheap buck. You see endless allegations from kiss and tell girls or even worse, sexual assault allegations from some (not all) just after a pay off. You would think that those dangers added to the many thousands they get paid per week would be reason enough to make sure you behave yourself. {ed's note - I find it difficult to have sympathy with a player myself. They know the dangers, they should grow up a bit and not act like such spoilt brats.}(0)(2)

Glen johnson is now britains most skillfull shoplifter thanks to terrys mother. Terry senior is currently teaching johnson in the art of drug dealing and is hoping ajax get knockedout of cl and meet liverpool in the europa cup so he can smuggle back a few pills and some skunk. News of the world wik bring out a vid soon!
Maybe the player is andy carroll that goldsteins on about! {ed's note - that did make me giggle!}(5)(3)

 08 Nov 2010 22:43:53
Harry has seen enough of his defence to know that he needs someone in and that someone is reputed to be Brede Hangeland so expect a decent sized bid in January. On the subject of Taarabt, you Liverpool fans will all be bald as coots within two months cos he's the sort of player who has you tearing your hair out. I thought he was the new Messiah for his first few hames for us bad soon realised he wastes it all by being stupidly greedy. Would advise Woy against signing him.(5)(0)

My money is on it being a story about Johnson playing the starring role in Sister Act 3. And if its not, It should be. {ed's note - the trouble is that there are so many footballers doing things they shouldn't that it is hard to know for sure who it will be when a story comes out.}

I remember Freddie Ljungberg saying he couldnt have sex the night before a match as it made his feet go numb. I don't get it. . the rest of us go out on a saturday or sunday to play with a belly full of beer and roast dinner. I couldve been a professional if I were born 20 years earlier -) {ed's note - I suppose we just aren't kinky enough to understand, I guess it gets tiring sneaking into team mate's houses at night o)}

Fair point about messi but you got gazza, cantona, maradonna all barking mad and tempremental. Anyway my source is decent and comolli is looking at taarabdt, whether you get him or not is another thing. This jint a dig at your owner but he comes across as if he going to be very tight. Maybe he is just sensible, which is good, but i can see possible cmflict between him, hodgson and comolli, plus he aint the wealthiest of owners. {ed's note - he may not be, but he is only one of 18!}(0)(0)

Johnson? Well ive never been his biggest fan but it would explain alot about his recent form. I wonder if John O'shea has been hanging out with the Terry's aswell then. .? {ed's note - it is amazing how much putting it about can affect their performances, good job Best never got affected by a bit of nookie like modern day players do!}

Ed i wonder if i can get your thoughts on something? Andy Goldsteins latest twitter post says "Just been told some mind blowing footballer allegations that are due to hit the headlines wednesday". . . . . . any idea or inkling about whom they may be about? {ed's note - well there is still more to come on Rooney, but I doubt it would be that, my guess would be the ones relating to Glen Johnson. He seems to have spent far too much time in the company of the Terry family if the stories are true. . . }

Its a shame he is like that he did everything he could do to leave spurs, a spoilt brat but was still gutted when he left. Its a gamble you take on players like that, every genius (not you alex the everton 156iq) has there ways, if adel taarabdt was an ice cream he would be licking himself allday! {ed's note - I don't get the impression Messi is like that though.}(2)(0)

Darren Ferguson said he needs to strengthen his squad so is nearly sealed the loan deals for:

.Its difficult to say mate, he never got a proper run at spurs but when he did play sometimes he was breathtaking, not saying he is better than hoddle et al but potential wise he is unstopable, can go past players like you can't beleive with skill, pace and power. He may be like a player you once brought, cheyrou, unbeleivably skillful but didn't match his potential and when i first saw cheyrou i wanted spurs to get him was gutted when you brought him. Ed, youtube taarabdt {ed's note - I have watched him a few times for QPR and thought he was a bit special, but it is the stories about his attitude that put me off him. You just wonder if any player is worth the trouble that comes with him.}(1)(0)

Liverpool are set to wrap up a £9m move for West Ham striker Carlton Cole once the transfer window re-opens in January, apparently the clubs were close to agreeing a deal on the final day of the summer transfer window but West Ham wanted £12m and Liverpool were only willing to pay £9m but since Cole has had injury problems and lost his place in the first team to Frederic Piqiuonne who Avram Grant signed from Lyon so West Ham are willing to let him leave.(2)(15)

Can we please get back to posting actual rumours again please! I used to love this site, but all I see now is peoples ideal line-ups, "click believeable if you want . ." Who cares who you want, it's not a rumour! 90% of this site is dream teams!

Onto an actual rumour, apparently Glen Johnson was supposed to start in right midfield on Sunday but refused to play and took off! Rumour was going round the Derry club.(8)(5)

Walsall are gonna sign martin devaney on a permanent in january :D(2)(1)

 08 Nov 2010 20:13:42
Ed, well if he plays to his potential then he is easily the most skillfull player i have ever seen and that includes ginola, hoddle, waddle, ardiles! He makes anelka looklike mr happy though! {ed's note - is he really that good? I have seen him look a bit special at times, but never quite to that kind of level.}(0)(3)

 08 Nov 2010 19:37:22
Ed, got some info from a good source that liverpool are looking at adel taarabdt of qpr. Commolli brought him to spurs, he has amazing potential but is a drama queen and a sulking b@stard and outspoken to say the least! {ed's note - we already have enough of those! I did wonder if he would look at him, purely because he knows the quality he has, and I agree he has so much potential. I am not sure I would want him at the club though.}(3)(5)

Rooney will be sold for about 50 - 60M.
There are potential buyers "R Mad", he is def. going to Spain.
And that money could be used for buying 3-4 Capable players.

After all the mess he has lost all the dignity he had at OT.

If hull are gonna offer us 8 million for frazier campbell, i'll gladly drive him to your ground myself

There's no need to fill your car up then, there's no more chance of us £8m for Campbell, than there is of us offering it for Rooney.

The word is that we will find out by close of play tomorrow, if the take-over will go ahead, then we should see a new striker come in immediately, it just won't be Fraizer(and wouldn't be, even if he wasn't injured).(5)(6)

Re: quickest player in the Premiership

I would make three obvious points.

Firstly, the list can only include players that have been timed - which is probably why other notably quick players, like Agbonlahore, Babel and Lennon, are not included.

Scondly, pace over a 100m is not the only relevant measure. Often, the players that are the most devastating are the ones that are quick off the mark and have great acceleration. Typically, these players have a short stride length - something that will be a disadvantage over 100m.

Thirdly, if Walcott has been timed at under 10 seconds for the 100m it is doubtful that any other player is quicker than that over the distance. A player that quick could probably be trained to be an international class athlete.

Whoever wrote this-

Ive heard numerous rumours that harry redknapp may be on his way out of white hart lane, with interest from sevilla valencia and juventus. with steve mclaren red hot favourite to take over, as he appears to fit their abbitions perfectly and is top of the chairmans wish list.

This simply is not going to happen Sandra Redknapp simply would not want to move from Sandbanks and Harry already gets up in the early hours to drive up each day. There's no way he'll manage abroad. If he leaves Spurs it will be if he was offered the England managers job, but there's no guarantees that's likely and Capello just recently agreed a new contract.
Harry will be at the Lane for the next couple of years at the very least

As for Spurs Ashley Young's continued delay in signing the new contract at Villa means they will again try to sign him in January(13)(10)

Hey ed, do you think all this talk of hulk is true? I don't think we would go for him even tho id love to see him at anfield i think we will go for carlton cole which i don't rate much. {ed's note - Hulk wants a move away from Porto and he wants to move to England, Comolli had a good look at him yesterday. That is all I know though.}(15)(8)

Nice to see we've found another goal scorer in gyan but i still think bruce needs someone else with PL experience for the midfield & can actually score goals(5)(16)

My sister works on the design team for Mrs Rooney, and she has been advised that the 'business' is moving it's base early next year, from the UK to Spain.

Apparently, Mr Rooney leaving Man Utd is a done deal and the old trafford faithful will not see him play again for the reds - Fergie is absolutely disgusted with his behaviour and has told the board they either sold Rooney or he would walk - The contract was signed simply to ensure Man Utd got the full 'worth' for the player.

She has not been told where in Spain, but my guess would be in the Madrid area !(44)(40)

Apparently Celtic have stayed in contact with shay given since the summer and will look to get him in January. This is due to the fact that new castle will probably want to call foster back because of their keeper injuries. Keep an eye out for this one to happen.(31)(22)

Bale going to Utd is an absolute crock of Sh . Man.U don't have the cash to afford him never mind his weekly wage and bonuses.
Regarding Rooney: I know he's boring everybody now. . Utd have packed him off to the States after he revealed that he's leaving Coleen after the debacle in Dubai and he was intending to move into the Lowry Hotel on a more permanent basis. One thing is for sure Ferguson does not want him at Man. U. with him shattering their wage structure. If they can find anybody to buy him. He's gone.(46)(31)
