Les Reed has told Roy Hodgson that he must get Jerome Thomas from Charlton Athletic. He has reminded him of the link up play seen between Thomas, Konchesky and Danny Murphy. Upper limit on fee £4 million. Pards is willing to sell which is why Thomas did not play against West Bromwich Albion as he was "ill".
MAN UNITED Rumours
Firstly, people please end the Berbetov rumours. he's not coming to United.Fergie sees him as a grumpy brat that throws he's toys out of the cot when things do not go he's way. United have their eye on other quality forwards that are not in the press of late. These include Huntelaar, McCarthy and Defoe. first choice is Huntelaar from Ajax. He has spoken of his admiration for United and is a type of out and out no nine forward United need as Saha does not show confidence as a forward anymore. Fergie has lost patcience with Saha and he will leave in the Summer. Manucho will be loaned out next season in order to gain experience and sort his visa out. This will also give him more game time for angola which will influence his chances of getting a visa.
In defense United want Richards to be Neville's successor but City's asking price is to high. Therefore United will opt for Rangers right back Alan Hutton. Brown will stay until the end of the season and then decide his future.
United might see the workhorse called Darren Fletcher sold to Rangers as part of the Hutton deal as Fletcher wants first team football and has dropped in the picking order thanks to a gem called Anderson. (what a kid.) United might also put in a cheeky bid for Javier Mascherano to create more options if Fletcher leaves. United think that they might be able to snatch him from Liverpool as the have good relations with MLS due to the Tevez signing.

As regards new manager Jurgen Klinsmann has hit the press a few times but sorces lead me to believe it will be Jose Morinho and if this does happen in Summer 08 then may go for Drogba if Berbatov is not already at Anfield.
This is to the person who said Liverpool could get Berbatov or Ibrahimovic for 18 to £24 million pounds well will inter be crazy to give a world class forward away especially for 24 mils. Ibrahimovic is worth atleast 40–50 mils people and Berbatov is very unlikely as he costs to much.

Latest Newcastle Transfer Rumours
I know someone within the Newcastle Bbackroom staff and there are apparently 1 or 2 deals going to be done during the period of the transfer window.
Outs
Babayaro – Released.
Andy Carroll – Loaned to Leeds/Norwich until end of season.
Stephen Carr – Sold to Birmingham for a nominal fee (they have made firm enquiries and a deal will go through shortly).
Peter Ramage – Loaned to Derby (possibly).
Shola Ameobi – Loaned to Fulham/Bolton (with view to a permanent deal being struck between the two clubs).
Possibly the biggest transfer out is Oba Martins – leaving the Newcastle for approx £12 million, if the talk is true, and he is apparently off to either Valencia, Blackburn, Benfica or Manchester City (who are all keen about the speedy forward.
Possibly the worst news for all Newcastle fans is that Stephen Taylor is "apparently" being coveted by 4 clubs (2 being Villa and Liverpool). This deal is likely to happen due to Fat Sam who totally underates the youngster. Why you have to ask yourself?

Edmilson from FC Barcelona – Loan at first followed up by a permanent move at the end of the season.
Wes Brown – £2 million due to his contract expiring at Man United.
Harry Kewell – £1.5 million (Sam sees him as a perfect versatille player either playing behing the front two, down the wing, central mid or as a forward.
Scharner of Wigan is being looked at at the min, not too sure what will come of this one.
Lastly a young forward called Richard. U. G. Bateman was mentioned to me. Not too sure f he is a Junior Magpie or plays elswhere, but apparently he has a great touch, eye for goal and general ability, but the one thing going against him is his lack of running at certain parts of the pitch.

Liverpool to sign right–back Daniel Alves, young goalkeeper Joe Hart and centre–half Micah Richards. It is beleived that Alves has been seen
already in Melwood. So Sami Hyypia and Steve Finnan will be on there way out as they have both just claimed there pention.
Newcastle are to make a bid for Kuyt. It will bigger than the other bids which are around £8 million but it will in two parts, this will mean that if he does not work at SJP they can sell him but if he does Rafa makes back the money spent either way. Everyones happy, well maybe.
Just heard something very crazy about the possible signings coming into Newcastle and that is three Argentines. The Milito Bros, Diego Milito from Zara on loan with view to signing and the other Gabriel Milito from FC Barcelona just on loan with Juan Roman Riquelme from Boca too. Are they going to have a shock. Stranger things have happened. By the looks of things, it can only get better.

Obviously a lot of the rumours on this page are just that and have no chance of materialising. HOWEVER. my contact at CELTIC, who shall remain nameless, informs me (and I am a RANGERS fan) that they are seriously interested in Klass Jan Huntelaar of Ajax who would cost about £5 million (maybe deal involving Hesselink? ) and that McFadden will sign for Celtic this January. Roy Keane is interested in taking Balde, Wolves are interested in Riordon. Also mooted to be heading north to Glasgow's east end is Andriy Voronin who is said to be regretting turning down a move to Parkhead in Summer.
My RANGERS rumours are less certain but still necessitate your attention: Ivan Campo should be at Rangers for end of January for around £1 million; Freddy Eastwood for Ibrox in Summer for about £4 million (funded by sales of Cousin and Hutton) ; Hutton for Man United in Summer; Steven Pressley linked with return; Nathan Roberts of B'burn Rvrs (if this falls through expect Gary O'Connor; McCormack return. BARRY FERGUSON will be the subject of a resolve–testing bid this Summer with Liverpool and Hamburg having already enquired into the availability of the captain. Hamburg seem the likelier suitor.
David Murphy will not sign for either Old Firm team and will instead head back south.

Plymouth Argyle forward Sylvain Ebanks–Blake is a target for Queens Park Rangers, Derby and Sunderland and is subject to a £2 million bid. Ebanks–Blake wants to stay at the Devon club as they have a realistic chance of the play offs and promotion to the Premier League. However, he will be looking to move in the Summer if the pilgrims fail to achieve the play offs.
I have just seen Pascal Chimbonda leave Murray park. It is believed that a deal to include him and Defoe in a swap for Alan Hutton. Chimbonda will only be staying on loan until the end of the season, but Defoe will sign a four year deal that he hopes will see him included back in the national team with exceptional Champions League displays.

We all would love to see Messi in the United colour. but Sir Alex relative be realistic. Sir Alex does not own the club that he would splash that much of money again. one thing is for sure that Sir Alex has many stikers in his list and they will be watched until the end of the season. some of them are David Villa, Zaltan Ibrahimovich (SAF always admired him), karim benzema (if he keeps going in the same pace) and Dimitar Berbatov (most likely as we saw how he waited for his targeted player Owen Hargreaves). clear one more thing this time Sir Alex want a stiker who would help Rooney and Tevez develop further as a forward (what Henrik did). if veloso keeps performing then he will be signed for sure but if not then the planned could be changed. until now there is no plan to sign any defender as manu do not need any. if any one from the current player request for a transfer then the search would be on; otherwise at this point expect veloso at that role.
